ProcedureEdit

  1. Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
  2. “WEST BENGAL STATE ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY LIMITED” (WBSEDCL) is the electricity regulation board operating within the state of West Bengal.
  3. Payment of electricity bill shall be paid by
    1. e-payment through web portal & mobile App
    2. e-payment of electricity bill through mobile wallet
    3. Cash counter at our customer care centers
    4. Collection through e-pradan system of Govt. of West Bengal
    5. Collection Kiosk
    6. Online cash collection center (By third Party)
    7. NACH
    8. RTGS / NEFT
    9. Electronic bill presentation and payment (EBPP)

Tariff:

  • There is different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay through Cash counter at our customer care centers

  1. Consumer can make payment at the cash counters of their concerned Customer Care Centres (CCCs). Link for CCC’s: online link for CCC
  2. Go to the respective center and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
  3. The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Through Collection Kiosk

  1. WBSEDCL has set up 250 Nos. of Any Time Payment (ATP) Touch Screen KIOSK for collection of payment of energy bill
  2. These collection Kiosks are installed at different Customer Care Centers. Consumer can view & pay their bills online even-if beyond office hours.

Through NACH

  1. For hassle free periodic payment of energy bills directly from bank account of the consumers a new process named NACH has been introduced. "National Automated Clearing House (NACH)" is governed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)
  2. In this process one unique identifier number "Unique Mandate Reference Number" (UMRN) will be allotted by NPCI against the Mandates of consumers.
  3. The NACH facility of payment will be available to the L&MV consumers of WBSEDCL who have not registered for EBPP mode of payment. Consumers will be able to avail all the rebates including additional e-payment rebate.
  4. Registration in NACH process can be done by submission of "Mandate Form" after logging in wbsedcl.in. through "Consumer Login" page. Online link: link for NACH
  5. User has to register as a user here and login with the user id and password. Once the required settings are incorporated, periodic payment shall be possible.

Through RTGS / NEFT

  1. Payment may be made through RTGS/NEFT in your exclusive account number and the respective IFSC Code “ICIC0000104”
e.g: for account number = WBB followed by 9 digit consumer number and then installation number

Through e-payment - web portal

  1. The consumers are able to make their payment at any time at their convenience using Web Portal/Mobile App of the Company. The payment can be paid through the following modes:
  2. Modes of payment
    1. Credit Card / Debit Card (Including RuPay) / Internet enabled Bank Account (with 72 Banks) / wallet / Bharat QR / UPI / BHIM / Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS)
  3. User has to reach the consumer login page. Online link: For online payment(If not a registered user, please use the new user option provided to register and the login)
  4. The resulting page provides details of the consumer Id. (Consumer details and technical details)
  5. Please select “pay bill” listed in the menu list to reach the next page
  6. User will be prompted with bill details for the month to pay. Please select appropriate check bosx and hit “Next” if the details are OK.
  7. In the new page, please check the details and amount mentioned and select appropriate oprion to make payment. Once all the details are in place as applicable, please hit “Confirm” to get another tab “proceed to pay”. Now hit the new tab to reach the payment page
  8. In the payment page, please select the payment option followed by sub option if any for the selected type and hit respective button to reach the payment gateway page.
  9. Please fill in the applicable details and follow the screen prompts to progress for completing the online payment process
  10. Once the payment is made, an acknowledgement for the payment received will be prompted. User can save / print the bill using the link provided for future reference

Through e-payment of electricity bill through mobile wallet

  1. Easy e-Payment of energy bill for L&MV Consumer using through mobile App/Portal of the following service providers using mobile wallet: Airtel Money / Vodafone M-pesa / Paytm / PhonePe
  2. Consumers can also be able to make payment against electricity bill using USSD Platform of Airtel Money / Vodafone M-Pesa.

Through Online Cash Collection Center (By Third Party)

  1. Consumer can pay against their electricity bill at Online Cash Collection Center maintained by third party Agency M/s Sahaj e-Villeage Limited.
  2. There are 4110 nos. of such collection centers spreading across West Bengal.

Through Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP)

  1. L&MV Consumers can get himself registered for Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) by providing his/her Consumer ID and Installation Number directly through Bank's portal.
  2. After registration, billing information will be available at bank's portal to consumers as an when the bill is generated.
  3. In this e-payment facility, Consumer can view and pay his bill at their bank's portal/ATM in the following modes:
    1. Manual: Consumer can view and pay his bill as and when presented
    2. Standing instruction: Maximum limit can be set for bill payment where amount will be debited only when bill amount is less than or equal to the limit set.
  4. This facility is initially introduced for the customers of the HDFC bank only. Customers for other banks will be brought under this facility shortly.

Collection through e-pradan system of Govt. of West Bengal

  1. Integration has been made with e-Pradan of IFMS (integrated Financial Management System) of West Bengal Govt. for payment against energy bill/quotation of Government establishment using RTGS. Link for IFMS: Link
  2. Please click the e-Pradan icon provided in the given screen to reach the new page and follow through screen prompts to complete the process.
Note: user need to have USB Dongle to access e-Pradan (given only to Approvers). Once you have got the approval to access by creating user is information



Apply Online:

  1. To pay the electricity bill through online, applicant has to click on the following link Pay Online
  2. Now enter your consumer ID and captcha in the respective textbox and click on the “Proceed” button.
  3. Please follow the on-screen instructions and complete the payment process.
  4. After successful payment, auto-generated transaction/payment receipt would be sent to your valid mobile number and e-mail ID



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. Provide the EB card to the operator and mention the fee details to be paid.
  4. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  5. After successful payment, auto-generated transaction/payment receipt would be sent to your valid mobile number and e-mail ID



Apply through Mobile App: Phonepe/Gpay/Bharatpay.

  1. To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
  2. The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
  3. First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
  4. For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
  5. Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
  6. For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for West Bengal Electricity Board.
  7. To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
    • NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
  8. And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
  9. The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
  10. Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
  11. Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
  12. There is no fee for this app.
  13. The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

  • The individual should be a resident of the state.
  • Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
  • Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

  • Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
  • As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

  • The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
  • There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
  • This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
