Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. The license/permission for demolishing any building is provided by the concerned authorities in the Municipal Corporation. Contacts
2. The application form has to be obtained from the authorities in the respective district Municipal Corporation.
3. The application form can also be downloaded from the Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal’s official website.
4. In the webpage, you have to select the “Form B- Application for Permission to Construct or Reconstruct, Addition to, or Alteration of Building” form.
5. The prescribed application form for building demolition is Form B.
6. The application form has to be handwritten by the person/owner/agent applying for demolition purposes.
7. The application form has to be submitted along with the required documents prescribed by the authorities.
8. Make sure that you have all the documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. The fee estimation will be provided by the authorities based on the building type and its location.
10. Before the demolition, the owner has to make sure to disconnect the supplies to the building such as
    • Water Supply
    • Electricity Supply
    • Sewage Connection
11. The permit for demolition will not be granted until the owner gets a statement from the respective service connections and appurtenant equipment.
12. All the meters and regulators should be removed, sealed, and plugged in a safe manner before demolition.
13. After supervising everything the authorities will provide permission to demolish the building.

• The documents that are necessary for the building demolition permission are:
  • Site Plan
  • Building Plan
  • Statement of particulars
  • Water supply and sewage disposal plans
  • Copy of the possession certificate
  • Five copies of the sewage and water connection plan
  • Reports of soil test or test for stability of the slope
  • Detailed calculation of structural design
  • Current paid-up Municipal Tax receipt
  • Clearance certificate/application copy(if applicable)
  • No objection of West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Dept. (if applicable)
  • Indemnity Bond
  • Copy of Deed and Deed plan
  • Registered Undertaking for common passage (if applicable)
  • Power of Attorney (if applicable)
  • Sanctioned plan in case of any existing structure
  • FAR Calculation Sheet (if applicable)
• One set of copies should be laminated, and the extra copies if demanded by the authorities.
• All the copies have to be self-attested by the owner.
