This procedure explains various ways to Change Address in Ration Card in Vellore.

Through Online - Add Member

  1. Please use the following link : link
  2. In the new screen please use the “To change the address” option on the right part of the screen under “ELECTRONIC CARD RELATED SERVICES”.
  3. A new screen prompts user to sign in using the mobile number attached to the family card. Please follow the prompts as appropriate (entering the captcha) and finally click “Register it” button,
  4. User will get OTP in their mobile.
  5. please enter this OTP at prompted space and click “Submit” button.
  6. A new screen will be provided. Here respective details for Change of address will be listed. If the page shows different data please select service type from the drop down menu(Change of address).
  7. Please enter the details prompted for address change as appropriate. Select the set of documents to be included. Upload required documents.
  8. Please select the check box for “I accept terms….” Option and click the “Submit” button to apply online.
  9. Applicant gets acknowledgement for the submitted application. Keep it safe for future reference.
  10. This application gets processed by the respective department.
  11. Applicant gets notification over mobile and please follow as per the notification to get the card.
  12. Applicant shall check the online status using the acknowledgement receive.

Apply In-Person

  1. Ration Card holder shall approach their respective ration shop of their area or or Assistant Commissioner (AC) /Taluk Supply Officers (TSO)as applicable.

Here select the hyperlink for respective portal. In the district portal please select “DIRECTORY > PUBLIC UTILITIES >Municipalities “ or “DIRECTORY > Contact Directory” or “ABOUT DISTRICT > ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP > Revenue Administration” option for contact details AND FPS dealer link please select the menu “DS Stake Holders >> In States >> FPS Dealers AND District food and supply officer in both the above link, please select the respective state to get the new page. Here fill the page prompt and hit respective tab to get details.

In case the applicant moves into new residence within the jurisdiction of the same Fair Price Shop, the change of address can be recorded in the ration card as per the procedure below.

  1. Please go to the respective office.
  2. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used Or use the following link to download the form.
  3. Please submit the completed application along with required documents to the respective authority.
  4. Authorities after checking the submitted application along with attached documents will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
  5. Keep it safe for future reference.
  6. This application will be processed further to issue the ration card with updated address as per notified period.

In case the applicant moves into new residence outside the jurisdiction of the same Fair Price Shop, the change of address can be recorded in the ration card as per the procedure below.

  1. Once these documents are submitted as per the address above, a deletion slip will be issued. Applicant shall use this slip to get the card deleted from the A-Register or appropriate register and get a deletion slip signed by the respective salesman or authority.
  2. Hand over the deletion slip with the family card to the respective office and get an acknowledgement slip
  3. The changes are thereafter carried out in the family card. Applicant can come and collect the updated ration card on the day stipulated.

  • A valid ration card holder who changed their residence.
  • The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
  • New born above 5 years
  • Addition of member name after marriage
