Uttar Pradesh - Complaint about Faulty Electricity Meter

ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Approach the respective Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (UPPCL): Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited and Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited to register your complaint regarding the faulty electricity meter.
  2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
  3. Record the complaint according to the office guidelines.
  4. Once the complaint is recorded the consumer will be provided with an acknowledgement which needs to be kept safe until further notice.
  5. The request will be taken care of by the respective authority.
  6. A technician will visit on the address mentioned in the application to inspect the electricity meter.
  7. If the electricity meter is found faulty, it is removed and taken to the department lab for checking.
  8. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the repaired meter or the replaced meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
  9. The consumer must follow the department notice and regulations to get the electricity meter fixed.
