HOW TO APPLY

IN PERSON
Via ( Umeme offices)
  1. Visit the electricity board office of your area. (UMEME offices) with electric bill invoice and the amount to be paid indicated on the invoice
  2. Approach the services counter and submit the invoice bill and the recommended amount in cash or cheque Draft to the attending official
  3. Who will verify the amount to be paid through their computer system and if the amount is in order he/she will clear your bill and issue you a receipt confirming payment

Via the bank
  1. Visit a bank near you and request for the account number for the Uganda power authority deposit the subscribed amount indicated on the invoice bill and please indicate your electricity personal account number, and your full names

Via Postal Corporation of Uganda
  1. You can also post the payments at any post office centre near you

ONLINE METHOD
There are several methods of payment through online option i.e. through your mobile phone, bank automatic teller machine
  1. Via MTN Uganda
    • Dial *165# and Select Pay Bill from the MTN menu.
    • Enter the Power business number 8383.
    • Enter your full Power account number e.g. 123456-01.
    • Enter the amount you wish to pay.
    • Enter your MTN PIN.
    • Confirm that all details are correct.
    • You will receive a confirmation of the transaction via SMS.

  2. Via Airtel Money (Airtel)
    • Dial*185# and Select Airtel Money from the menu.
    • Click on "Make Payments".
    • Select "Pay bill”.
    • Choose Power Bill for postpaid bill
    • Enter the amount you wish to pay.
    • Enter your Airtel Money PIN.
    • Under the reference option, type your full Power account number e.g. 123456-01.6Confirm that all details are correct.
    • You will receive a confirmation of the transaction via SMS.

  3. Via ATM Payments
    • If you have an account with Stanbic Bank, Postbank or Standard Chartered Bank, you may also pay your bill through any of these banks *Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs).

  • Amount to be paid is always indicated on the electricity bill invoice (UMEME) payment mode: pay Eb bill

Required InformationEdit

  • You will require the electricity bill details
  • The name of the consumer
  • The account Number of the consumer
  • The contact address and physical location
  • Working telephone line or Mobile number
  • The invoice to pay the bill.

  • Payment of your electric bill enable one to enjoy power services, failure to pay your bill on time will led to disconnection of power at your premises

  • Electricity Payment receipts can be used as proof of residence.
