Uganda - Obtain a Bonded Warehouse License or Permit

Procedure

1. To obtain a license or permit for bonded warehouse in Uganda, the applicant has to contact the Uganda Revenue Authority and submit a the Application form as prescribed by the Authorities .
2. The applicant should submit the copy of the certificate given by the Local Municipality office to the National building review board.
3. If a company submits the form, the position of the individual submitting the form should be specified and the form should have the company stamp. This individual should be a director of the company.
4. While submitting the application form, please make sure you have attached all the appropriate documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.

Required Documents

• Income Tax clearance for the previous year.
• Valid e-tax TIN.
• Certificate of Incorporation and memorandum and articles of association.
• Company’s Certificate Audited Accounts for the previous business year.
• Two passport size photographs of Company Directors and Managers.
• Organizational structure including an up to date list of employees.
• Two passport size photographs of Bond Keeper and his/her Curriculum Vitae detailing their experience and qualification.
• Proof of legal possession or title in the premises intended for the Bonded Warehouse by providing Stamp Duty paid tenancy agreements or a certified copy of certificate of title to the premises void of encumbrances. Tenancy agreement must be covering a minimum of one calendar year.
• A Company profile indicating the type of goods the operator intends to warehouse.
• Architectural plan/design of the proposed warehouse approved by city/urban authorities.

Eligibility

• Anyone / company registered, indicating the type of goods the operator intends to warehouse and has completed all the requirements can apply for Bonded warehouse license

Fees

• License Fee: 1,500 USD
• Renewal Fee: 1,500 USD

• Validity: 1 Year
