Apply In person

  1. Gather all the required documents and the recommended fee and visit the Uganda immigration office or your country’s embassy for more information
  2. Approach the services desk and request for the application form, read through the instruction carefully and fill it accurately Application form
  3. Payment assessment are done using the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) portal of fees charged. Once the assessment has been done. A choices of payment method is made (bank, mobile payment) and a Payment Registration Number (PRN) issued.
  4. Payment is then made against the PRN using the method of choice
  5. Submit the filled form and attach all the documents required to the attending officer who will verify and process your document, then you will be issued with a receipt by the official
  6. If all the information are in order, you will be issued with the special pass within 2 days

Apply Online

  1. Visit the ministry of immigration website portal read through the terms and conduction and click on “Accept” to begin your online application
  2. select the type of application; under visa or permit type drop box select “special pass” and under category drop box select “the application you are applying for” and under subcategory drop box select either “3 or 5 months “ then click on “Next”
  3. you’re required to fill the application form read through the instruction carefully and fill the form accurately
  4. you’re required to upload all the required documents
  5. The finally step is submitting your application form by click on “submit”
  6. Once all the documents and application form are verify ,Your special pass will be processed and email to you upon payment of the fees via the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) website portal

  • Ugandan authorities continue to issue Special Pass permits for short-term assignments of up to five months, they are no longer accepting Special Pass applications for employees intending to work in Uganda longer than five months. Additionally, authorities are increasingly scrutinizing and rejecting work permit applications that do not comply with Ugandan advertising rules

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

  • The certificate can be used by foreign tourist already in Uganda to extend their stay in Uganda
  • It is issued while a work permit is being processed and also for foreigners who come into the country for work on short contracts.
  • It is also used by person wishing to seek medical advices ,diplomatic works in Uganda
