ONLINE APPLICATION

  1. Visit the ministry of immigration and Foreign Affairs website portal Apply onlineand through the terms and condition and then click on “Accept”
  2. Step 1 is to select type of application, under visa or permit type drop box select “visa”, under category drop box select “Transit” under the sub category drop box the computer system will automatic select “Transit “ then click on “Next”
  3. Step 2 is filling of the application form read through the instruction carefully and fill it accurately, verify all the information is correct then click on “next step “
  4. Step 3 upload all the scanned required documents
  5. Finally step is submitting the application form and required documents

Note:

Pay the application fee online and receive their electronic visa online before travelling to Uganda

  • Vaccination certificate (yellow fever)
  • A letter stating reason for transit and country of destination
  • Credit/debit card or PayPal account to pay the Application fee USD 50

Note:

The payments MUST be done online, the application will not be process until the payment is done. All the online payments are subjected to a 3% surcharge fee

EligibilityEdit

  • Transit visa must be obtained before entering the country .all travellers transiting through Uganda for a period not exceeding 2 days total are eligible to apply for the visa.

Note:

The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you intend to travel. You should apply no later than 15 working days in advance.

NOTE

The payments MUST be done online, the application will not be process until the payment is done. All the online payments are subjected to a 3% surcharge fee

InstructionsEdit

  • The Uganda Transit e-visa is valid for 2 days after arrival
  • The applicant must be outside the republic of Uganda at the time of application
  • The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry to Uganda
  • The applicant must not have any other current Uganda visa
  • This visa cannot be changed to a work visa while inside the Republic of Uganda
  • You are required to print out and carry this travel authorisation with you as you will be required to present it at the point of entry
  • The applicant must arrive with the same passport with which they applied for the Transit e-visa.

  • Countries require visas from visitors for regulatory, security and economic reasons. You may need a visa for any countries you visit or transit on your trip.

  • The republic of Uganda launched the e-visa .it must be obtained before entering the country.all travellers transiting through Uganda for a period not exceeding 2 days total are eligible to apply for the visa.
  • Application are required to have a confirmed onward booking from Uganda to a third country or other acceptable plans to depart Uganda within 2 days after arrival
  • Travellers who use the transit e-visa program apply, pay a fee online and receive their electronic visa online before travelling to Uganda

  • Applicant will receive their visas via email, after filling the application form with the necessary information and once the online credit card payment is completed
