“Professional trapper” means ... If any protected species is lawfully taken under a permit or a Licence issued or wildlife use right granted or issued under the Act.
- Licence or Permit for professional trapper licence can be obtained from Uganda wildlife Authority.
- Fill up the appropriate application form as described by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
- After filling the form proceed to pay the prescribed fee.
- Submit the dully filled in form attached with pay slip to the Nursing Officer in charge of Nurse and Midwife council.
- Collect your professional trappers Licence certificate from where your application was submitted within a day from the date the application was received at Uganda wildlife Authority in case there is no rejection.
- The Authority may, on terms and conditions it considers necessary, and on payment of a prescribed fee, issue to a person a professional trappers Licence.
- A professional trappers Licence shall not authorize the licensee to hunt any protected animal except as may be necessary in defence of human life.
- A professional trappers Licence shall not entitle the licensee to use any snare, poison or poisoned weapon for capturing any animal or to shoot at any animal except when that act is immediately and absolutely necessary in defence of himself or herself and any other person.
Note: All trappers are required to use trap types for certain species that have been regulated for use under the Agreement

- Passport/ identification.
- Must be affiliated to a wildlife use right licensee.
- Foreigners must present valid work permits.
Note:
- Uganda Wildlife Authority must perform a thorough background check on the applicant.
- Application is made in writing to the Executive Director, Uganda Wildlife Authority.

EligibilityEdit
- All trappers must obtain a trapping license regardless of age.
- A minimum age of 10 years is recommended for successful completion of a Trapper Education program.
