Procedure[edit]


The Entertainment Duty Department, the Government of Maharashtra provides online facility to user to apply for Orchestra Permission. User can read the instructions and fill the form. Online service is provided by the government to save time of the user. The portal is available in two languages English and Marathi; user can select any of the preferred language. However, the application form can be printed and applied in person along with the necessary documents to the District Office.

Apply Online through aaplesarkar :
  1. The applicant needs to register on the website Create User Id
  2. The applicant can login using the credentials and fill the form as instructed.
  3. The applicant can fill the online application form for “Orchestra Permission” in the citizen login section: Online Application
  4. Submit the application.
  5. After submitting the application, user will get a reference slip or number which should be kept for future reference.
  6. Status of the application can be tracked by the user in “Track your Application” section. For tracking the application, application id or reference number will be required.

Apply in Person:

  1. The applicant can download the application form:Application
  2. The filled application form along with the necessary documents mentioned below should be submitted to the Licensing Authority (Divisional Asst.commissioner of Police).
  3. Separate Application is to be made for Loud speaker license to the concerned Police station.

  • Certificate of Assistant Director, Town Planning
  • Regarding noise pollution from the police station
  • Other required documents by the Entertainment Branch
  • License given by a competent authority related to business
  • Document of rental / rental agreement for recreational space
  • Deposit of deposits in the form of National Savings Certificate / Bank Guarantee
  • Non-conducting certificate from the Department of theatre supervisor, Maharashtra Government, Mumbai
  • Non-conducting certificates / permits for the competent authority to be submitted along with (all documents required)
  • Description of the immovable property of the applicant and documents to be issued (home / shop / office / business place)

Photocopy of documents should be attached while applying in person and scanned documents should be uploaded while applying online. Keep all the documents in scanned form like JPEG, GIF and PDF, so that it can be uploaded while making online application on the website. If submitting in person, xerox copies needs to be attached.

  • You will have to make an application in the prescribed format, affixing court fees stamp of Rs. 5.
  • The fee for an NOC is Rs. 50
  • Ticket selling fee is Rs. 50
  • The premises license fee is Rs. 500
  • The performance license fee  will be collected by the divisional ACP
  • The loudspeaker license fee will be collected by the concerned Police station  (the fees may vary depending upon the nature and period of the program)

Required Information[edit]

  1. We would like to arrange an orchestra/music concert/jazz/pop music/function like film-fair award, Miss India, Miss Mumbai contest/fun fair/exhibition with entertainment/mega show event on a big scale. Which licenses are required?
    • You require following licenses 
    1. NOC (for erecting structure/stage)
    2. Ticket selling license 
    3. Premises license
    4. Performance license (application to be made to the Divisional Asst.commissioner of Police) 
    5. Loud speaker license (application be made to the concerned Police station.)

  2. What is the procedure to be followed in order to obtain these licenses?
    • You will have to make an application in the prescribed format, affixing court fees stamp of Rs. 5. 

    • Please submit the application 15 days prior to the date of the programme along with following necessary documents.
    1. NOC from the Landlord 
    2. NOC from the Traffic Police
    3. NOC from the Fire Brigade 
    4. NOC from the electrical Inspector.
    5. NOC from the Health Department of BMC (if eatables are being served)
    6. NOC from the Collector (if there is ticket selling or charity show)
    7. NOC from the Rangabhumi Parinirikshan Mandal 
    8. Certificate regarding fitness of the machinery (in case of amusement rides)

  3. How long will it take to obtain the above mentioned license?
    • It will take 15 days. The application will be sent to the concerned Police station for enquiry. After receipt of the enquiry report from Police station through divisional ACP and zonal DCP, a decision will be taken and accordingly, the license will be issued.

  4. What is the required fee for the licenses?
    • The fee for an NOC is Rs. 50
    • Ticket selling fee is Rs. 50
    • The premises license fee is Rs. 500
    • The performance license fee  will be collected by the divisional ACP
    • The loudspeaker license fee will be collected by the concerned Police station  (the fees may vary depending upon the nature and period of the program)
