Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for getting a passport is available in Tanzania Immigration Head Office contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information that is requested in the application form.
3. Applicant should carry both photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach all required documents (both photocopies and originals, whichever is necessary) along with the application form before submitting them at the office.
6. Fee for this procedure can be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all these procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the passport will be provided within a stipulated period of time.
8. If there is no information regarding the passport is provided within the stipulated time, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

Apply Online

1. Application form for getting a passport is available online in the following link
2. Applicant has to provide all information that are requested under “Basic Information” and then click on “Start New Application” for starting the application.
3. In the next page, the application ID will be provided which the applicant has to copy and save for later enquiries.
4. The applicant has to provide all information that are requested under “Personal Information” on the next page like – “First Name”, “Middle Name”, “Surname”, “Gender”, “Marital Status”, “Date of Birth”, “Country”, “City” , “Nationality” and then finally click on “Save and Continue”.
5. On the next page, the applicant has to provide all information that is requested under “Contact, Address and Employment”.
6. On the next page, the applicant has to provide “Travel Information”, “Travel Companions”.
7. Applicant has to attach digital copies of all documents that are requested under “Documents” portal.
8. Finally, applicant has to confirm the information under “Declaration”.
9. Fee for this procedure can be completed under “Payments” option.
10. Finally, the applicant has to complete the application form by clicking on “Submit” option.
11. Details about the passport will be provided via registered email address of the applicant.
12. If there is no information regarding the passport is provided by the applicant, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.
