Apply In-Person:

  1. To book complaint about Incorrect EB Bill in Tamil Nadu, the applicant has to approach the Electricity Department. contact link
  2. Applicant should go to Electricity Department. Meet the executive who is meant for taking complaints and applicant can get their application form for incorrect EB Bill.
  3. Follow their guidelines to record your complaint.
  4. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
  5. The Applicant will be provided with acknowledgement for the received complaint.
  6. This request will be processed by the respective authority.
  7. After the complaint is submitted, technician will check your EB meter to find out the reason for the incorrect EB bill.
  8. A technician will visit the premises as per the address mentioned in the application.
  9. He will check the meter for the fault. If the problem is persistent, the electricity meter will be removed. Then the electricity meter will be sent to department lab for checking.
  10. Applicant shall wait till the mentioned period to get the meter or can get new electricity meter based on the department’s decision.
  11. The fees and payment depends on the respective electricity board and respective state.
  12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 15-30 days.
  13. Please follow the department notification to get the electricity meter fixed.

  1. Applicant Go to online website link.
  2. First one the applicant has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online. If you would like to know about the documents that are required for this procedure.

  4. If you are a new user, click on “New User – Register Here” button which is highlighted in “Red”.
  5. In the new page, Select the “New Application No / Service No” and click on “Enter” button which is highlighted in “Red”.
  6. If you choose “New Service Connection Application Number”, then enter the “Application No” and click on the “Check detail” button which is highlighted in “Red” and continue the registration process by following the page prompts and finish it.
  7. If you choose “Existing Service Connection Number”, then click on the “Select” button which is highlighted in “Red” to select the region.
  8. Click on the “Select” button which is highlighted in “Red” to select your region.
  9. Enter the “Consumer No” and click on the “Check detail” button which is highlighted in “Red” and continue the registration process by following the page prompts and finish it.
  10. After registration, go to the login page, enter the “User Id” and “Password”, and click on “Login” button which is highlighted in “Red”.
  11. Fill out all the mandatory details required. Save the form and submit.
  12. The complaint is now fully submitted.
  13. After the complaint is submitted the fuse man will visit for the inspection of the incorrect EB meter from the local or centralized location.
  14. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the incorrect meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
  15. The fees and payment depends on the respective electricity board and respective state.
  16. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 15-30 days.



Apply through CSC

  1. To Book Complaint about Incorrect EB Bill, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre/E Seva. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with “Required Documents” to the office. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  6. The operator will process the application online.
  7. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  8. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
  9. An ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  10. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the complaint will be registered.
