Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for inter caste marriage certificate, the couple shall approach the nearest office of the concerned collector / tahsildar / the designated appropriate authority for your area.
2. Link for contact details link for district Select districts option from the left part of the screen. In the given page, please select the name of the district to reach the respective district page. Here, select the hyperlink for respective portal. In the district portal, please select “DIRECTORY>PUBLIC UTILITIES>Municipalities “ or “DIRECTORY >Contact Directory” or “ABOUT DISTRICT>ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP> Revenue Administration” option for contact details.
3. Go to the respective office and consult with the designated authority to know the applying procedure.
4. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
5. Complete the application form. Attach all the documents as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated authority.
6. Authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted with applicable fees as applicable.
7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. The applicant will be provided with a record number as acknowledgement for future reference.
8. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting certificate.
9. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details and submitted documents.
10. This certificate is issued based on the details given in the application, local enquiry, facts and records produced.
11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
12. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
13. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.

Apply Online - e-Sevai Services for Citizen

1. Use the following link to e-sevai portal to apply income certificate E-sevai
2. In the given page, please enter the login credentials as appropriate at the given prompt and click “Login” button to login.
   • If you are a new user, then select “New User? SignUp here” option under login to reach register page. Please complete the registration prompt as appropriate and click “Sign Up” button to register and then login to apply.
3. Applicant will reach the online dashboard. Please click on Services on the left panel and choose “Revenue Department” option.
4. From the list of services, please select “REV-113 Inter Caste Marriage Certificate” service.
5. Applicant will be redirected to the service page on the Tamil Nadu e-District Web Portal. Please click on “Proceed” button to continue.
6. Here, please enter the “CAN” number at the prompted space and complete the other prompted details. Please click “Search” button.
   • If the “CAN Number” is not obtained then use the ‘Click here’ option in “Apply for CAN registration:-Click here” at the bottom reach “CAN Registration” page. Please complete the page prompts as appropriate and click “Register” button. Please follow the on screen information to get the “CAN” number and then come back to the previous step.
7. Once the search button is used, applicant will get the details on the screen. If all are ok, then click “Proceed” button.
8. Applicant will reach “Inter Caste Marriage Certificate” page. Please complete the page prompt as appropriate.
9. Once the details are entered, check the option box for “This certificate is…” declaration and hit the “Submit” button to get a page that shows list of required documents.
10. Please go through the details and use the “Upload” button to upload required documents as appropriate and select “Make Payment” button to get payment page. Please follow the page and hit “Confirm payment” button to submit the application online.
11. A computer generated acknowledgement will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
12. This application will be processed further.
13. Applicant will get update about the application status and notification in their registered mobile number.
14. Please follow the department’s notification to get the certificate as per applicable norms.

Apply through eSevai centre

1. Please visit any nearby eSevai Centre. Link for centre link please use the “Locate your nearby e-Sevai.” option under “Latest News” to get a new page for locating respective centre.
2. Meet the operator and tell the operator which service is required.
3. The operator will open the required service page. Applicant shall provide the details as required and submit the document for scanning.
4. Once the details are entered, please pay the service charge (if any) applicable for the requested service.
5. Once the details are processed, an acknowledgement receipt will be provided by the operator. Please keep it safe for future reference.
6. The application number details will be sent to your mobile number through “SMS”.
7. This application will be processed further. Applicant shall follow the department notification.
8. You will be informed the status of the application you have submitted. If your certificate is generated, you can collect it from your nearby eSevai centre with your acknowledgement receipt.

Note:

• Applicant has to bring original documents to the applying office while applying for cross verification purpose and scanning if required.
  
• Without cross signature on photograph and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
  
• Applicant may be asked to apply with the specific format as advised by the respective benefit providing government departments. In that case, applicant shall use the format to apply.

Eligibility

• Applicant should be a citizen of India.
  
• Applicant should be the permanent resident of the respective state.
  
• One of the spouses must belong to scheduled caste or as per the state norms are eligible to apply.
  
• The couple with marriage registration certificate are eligible to apply.

Validity

• The certificate issued is valid as long as the couple is not divorced or valid for a specified minimum period on the certificate.
