Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the cracker and explosive license, approach the concerned District collector office of your area.
  2. Applicant shall collect the application form from respective office on visit or Download the application form from the given Link. Click on “Form Type” drop-down menu and “Rules” drop-down menu to select the form.
  3. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  4. Go to the office.
  5. Contact details link please select your district name from the list provided to get the contact details.
  6. Submit the completed application form along with required documents to the authority.
  7. Submitted application form will be verified and if all are in place, application will be accepted and an acknowledgement will be provided for submitted application.
  8. This application will be processed further. Applicant gets notification about the process.
  9. Authorities will visit applicant’s premises and place of business to verify and inspect as per norms.
  10. There will be a criminal record check about applicant.
  11. If the above process are satisfactory, applicant will get license as per notification.
  12. A license with 1-year expiry period will be issued by the authority as per deliverable norms.


Note: After the expiry period, the applicant should follow the same procedure to obtain the license.


Apply Online through State Portal:

  1. To Apply for Cracker and Explosive License, the applicant has to make the application online via link
  2. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “REGISTER” button.
  3. And enter all the details with the captcha code and click the “Submit” button.
  4. Now the applicant has to log in using the login ID and password with the captcha code and click the LOGIN” button.
  5. Next, the applicant has to select the application form from the list shown on the webpage.
  6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  7. Also, upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. Review the application and click “Save”.
  9. Next the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee by clicking the “Pay Now” button.
  10. Pay the fee online mode and click the “Save and Submit” button.
  11. After submission, an acknowledgement message with a reference number will be generated.
  12. Use that reference number to check the status of the application.
  13. Once all the verification is over, the applicant will be notified to download the license.
  14. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply Online through PESO

  1. To Apply for a Cracker and Explosive License, the applicant has to make the application online via link
  2. The applicant has to enter their Login id and password and enter a captcha for verification.
  3. If the applicant is a new user the applicant has to click “New User” to register an account.
  4. Next, the applicant has to enter their particulars and click “Submit”.
  5. Next, the applicant has to select the application form from the list shown on the webpage.
  6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  7. Also, upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. Review the application and click “Save”.
  9. Next the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee by clicking the “Pay Now” button.
  10. Pay the fee online mode and click the “Save and Submit” button.
  11. Also, the applicant can download the acknowledgment receipt and application form by clicking the “Print” button.
  12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. The CCE will verify the information provided in the renewal application and may inspect the licensee's premises to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  15. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be sent an SMS from the office and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • No objection from fire service department
  • No objection from local body (district administration)
  • Particulars of previous license if any

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant must be above 18 years of old and should be the resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • Not sentenced or convicted of any offence involving violence or moral turpitude for a term of not less than six months, at any time during a period of five years after the expiration of the sentence.
  • Has not been ordered to execute under Chapter VIII of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), a bond for keeping the peace or for good behaviour, at any time during the term of the bond.
  • Whose license under the Explosives Act has not been cancelled, whether before or after the commencement of the Indian Explosives (Amendment) Act, 1978, for contravention of the provisions of this Act or of the rules Explosives Act, at any time during a period of five years from the date of cancellation of such license.

ValidityEdit

  • Validity of the Cracker License on Temporary basis will be Maximum of 15 days and on Permanent basis for 1 Year (Financial Year)
  • Renewed every year (Optional)

NOTE : When applying for a temporary license to sell or to store on seasonal demand like Diwali – This licence will be issued in a time of 1 week to 1 month as decided by local authorities.
