Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Permission to Export Vehicle, the applicant must go to the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa’s (ITAC) office. Contact Link
  2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities at the ITAC office, or else it should be downloaded from the website. Application Form Link
  3. If the applicant is an Export Business Owner, then they must attach the “Form IEPS 230-b - Applicant to register as an exporter with ITAC” along with the main application linked above. Registration Application Form Link
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The application form must be filled with all the necessary details, and along with the required documents it should be submitted to the authorities at the ITAC office.
  6. The application form will be verified by the ITAC authorities with the export rules and regulations.
  7. If all the export permit requirements are fulfilled by the applicant/export business owner, then the export permit will be approved to the applicant.
  8. If there are any false information or missing details and documents in the application, then the application will be rejected by the inspection authority.
  9. The permit approval will take a minimum of 2 working days to process.
  10. The export permit fee details are given in the “Fees” section of this page.


Note:
  • The application needs to filed in typescript form or in Block Letters (If manually filed)
  • The application form that contains alterations or erasures, or that are not duly completed, will not be considered for the permit approval.

If the applicant is a private individual, the documents are:

  • Application Form Link
  • Copy of PASSPORT or SA IDENTITY DOCUMENT of the owner.
  • Copy of the VEHICLE REGISTRATION certificate.
  • Copy of the POLICE CLEARNACE certificate.
  • If the applicant is not the registered owner, then
    • Copy of the COMMERCIAL INVOICE or Sworn Affidavit from the SELLER, and
    • Copy of the Identity Document of the Seller.


If the applicant is a Business Owner:

  • Registration Application Form Link

  • Copy of the company’s valid tax clearance certificate.
  • Copy of the VEHICLE REGISTRATION certificate.
  • Copy of the POLICE CLEARANCE certificate.
  • Customs code number.
  • Copy of Proxy ID. (Passport, ID, Traffic Register with Passport)
  • Residential Address Proof.

EligibilityEdit

  • Anyone exporting the vehicle from South Africa is eligible to apply for Export Permit Application.



FeesEdit

Vehicle Clearance/Export Services Charges are:

  • Vehicle Export Clearance (globally or SARPCCO) - R4,900
  • ITAC only Service - R2,500
  • Data dot service - R1,950
  • Vehicle Police Clearance (incl. Recovered) - R3,750
  • Engine Police Clearance (new VIN number) - R3,750

  • The export permit validity will period will be mentioned in the export permit certificate issued to the applicant after approval.
