Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a New Mail service Delivery like a new mail box, post box or a private bag, the applicant has to visit the nearest Post Office in his/her location.
  2. The contact details for the Regional offices of the Postal Department of Regional Post offices can found with the help of the following link: Link
  3. Find any post office nearest to your location and pay a visit to the office to apply for a new mail delivery service.
  4. Obtain the application form from the teller/clerk at the Post Office. Make sure that you have all the documents listed under the “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form by filling the relevant information under respective sections of the form.
  6. Once completed filling the application form, submit it along with all the required documents to the teller in the post office. Also pay the prompted fees at the office.
  7. The submitted form and attached documents will be put into necessary verification processes by concerned authorities.
  8. After necessary processes, you will be served according to your request and will be issued with the mailbox, post box or private bag.

  • Any person, who wants a new mail delivery service and is located within the demarcations of the Postal department, can apply.
  • He/she must have a valid proof of identity.

ValidityEdit

The mail service delivery is valid from the 1st of January to the 31 of December of each year and is payable before December.

InstructionsEdit

  • Only registered owners or registered renters of accommodation in areas where a street delivery service is impossible, for example farms, agricultural holdings, rural and developing areas are entitled to one free post box at the nearest mail collection point or post office according to the post office demarcations. Proof of ownership or occupation must be submitted.
  • The post office is entitled to verify the information on the application. Further conditions are available at any Post Office or on the Post Office website.

  • It is updated monthly with box change details as well as annually when everyone needs to renew their use of the box. The PDD details consist of ID Numbers, Box address and residential Addresses, Telephone and Cell Numbers, as well as e-mail addresses.
  • This PDD is growing with the introduction of individuals that are registering their residential addresses for postage purposes. These individuals need not necessarily have a BOX address. The PDD is segmental down to Income per suburb, and Emerging Market segments.
