Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Register with MediSave Grant For New-borns, the applicant has to approach the MINISTRY OF HEALTH link
2. Applicant has to get the application form from the respective office.
3. Applicant has to fill all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Make sure that you have all the needed documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. After completing the form, submit the completed application form along with the necessary documents to the respective authority.
6. Once the above process gets over, the authority will issue the granted document to the applicant by visiting the health department office.
7. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
8. The processing time for this procedure is within 15days.

Eligibility

• All Singapore Citizen babies are eligible for the MediSave Grant for New-borns (MGN) of $4,0001. These include children who are adopted as well as children who are born to divorced or unwed mothers.
• Children who are born overseas can qualify for the grant upon registering their birth with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) directly, or through the relevant Overseas Missions. New-borns who are Permanent Residents (PRs) or foreigners are not eligible.

Fees

• Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

Validity

• The validity is till the baby age of 21.

Need for the Document

• The MediSave Grant for New-borns (MGN) helps to provide parents with greater peace of mind and support for their children's healthcare needs.
• The MGN will help to ensure that new-borns start out in life with enough MediSave to pay for their MediShield Life premiums from birth till age 21.

Information which might help

• It will take about two months from the registration of birth for the grant to be credited to the new-born’s MediSave account. The parents of the child will receive a notification letter after the grant has been deposited.
