Singapore - Obtain a Fire Safety Certificate

To obtain a Fire Safety Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Singapore Civil Defence Force link
Applicant has to download the form from the following Application form
Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
Make sure that the applicant should have the necessary documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
Submit the application form along with the required documents to the respective authority.
Fee for this procedure is given in “Fees” section of this page.
Upon successful inspection, the applicant get the certificate from the authority within the 7 to 10 working days.

To obtain a Fire Safety Certificate, the applicant has to use the following link for registering link
The applicant to login with their login Id number and password
Note: If you don’t not have an account you can register by clicking on register now and create an account.
After login fill the application form for Certificate of Fire Safety Certificate with the necessary information.
Make sure that you have all the required document that are mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
After uploading the documents review the application and click submit.
After the successful submission, the applicant has to make prescribed fee via credit or debit card.
The applicant needs to book a Request for Site Inspection by contacting the Building and Construction authority. (Contact details of the office was given in “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
The authorized officer will inspect the site. Upon full compliance to licensing requirements and submission of required documents, the authority will approve the application. You will receive a notification via email 7 -10 working days.
The applicant will receive certificate via post or via email.

Public Building1(except for a residential building) that has an occupant load of more than 200 persons
An industrial building that
- Has an occupant load of 1,000 persons or more
- Has a floor area of site area2 of 5,000 square metres or more or
- Has a habitable height of more than 24 metres
A foreign dormitory that
- Has an occupant load of 1,000 persons or more
- Has a floor area of site area2 of 5,000 square metres or more; or
- Has a habitable height of more than 24 metres.
A hospital
A residential building that
- Has a habitable height of more than 24 metres
- Is installed with
  - An automatic fire alarm system
  - A sprinkler system or
  - A wet riser system and
- Is not used or intended to be used as an HDB flat
An engineered timber building (except a building that is used or intended to be used as an HDB flat) that is installed with any of the following:
- An automatic fire alarm system
- An automatic sprinkler system
- An automatic smoke control system
- Any other automatic fire detection or suppression system intended to detect or control a fire automatically.

Under Section 20 of the Fire Safety Act, the owner or occupier of any public building such as offices, hospitals, shopping complexes, industrial buildings and private residential buildings that fall within the following criteria is required to apply and obtain a Fire Certificate (FC).
