Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Hostel License in Sikkim, the applicant has to approach the nearest Municipal Corporation in their area.
  2. Get the application form from the executive officer in the municipal corporation.
  3. Fill up the application form correctly without any mistakes.
  4. Please make sure you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Submit the application form along with the required documents.
  6. After submitting the application form, pay the applicable fees as per the insructions.
  7. After the successful payment, the applicant will receive a transaction number to the registered mobile number.
  8. The applicant can track the status of the application using the transaction number.
  9. Once the process is completed, the applicant can download the license in the official webpage of GMC. Official Website



Apply Online - Sikkim Obtain Hostel License or Permit Online with Images

  1. To apply for Hostel License in Sikkim, the applicant has to visit the official web page of Gangtok Municipal Corporation. Use the following link to apply for Hostel License: License Online
  2. Now click on the "Trade License" option which is on the Home screen.
  3. If you are an existing user you can directly login into the portal.
  4. If you are a New user you have to register yourself with the portal by clicking on the "New User Registration" option.
  5. Now the registration page will be displayed.
  6. Fill the registration form with the required details and click on the Submit button.
  7. After the registration process, login into the portal using user ID and password.
  8. Now click on the "Apply for New Trade License" on the dashboard.
  9. Now fill up the New Trade License application with the required details.
  10. Upload your scanned photograph and signature in the .jpeg format.
  11. Upload all the required documents as listed below.
  12. Once the application is submitted, the concerned officials will verify the documents.
  13. The application form will be forwarded for the approval of the relevant department.
  14. Upon submission, an automatic unique application number will be generated.
  15. Now the fee for the license will be displayed on the screen.
  16. Click on the "Do Payment" option and click on the proceed button.
  17. Select the type of payment and click on the "Make Payment" button to make online payment.
  18. An acknowledgement slip will be generated for the transaction.
  19. If the application is accepted, you will get a notification on the registered mobile number.
  20. Now login into the official portal and enter the application number and click on the "Submit" button.
  21. Now you can download the Hostel License.
