Sikkim - How to Pay Electricity Bill

ProcedureEdit

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Energy & Power Department, Govt. of Sikkim” is a state-owned electricity regulation and distribution board operating within the state of Sikkim.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid by
1. Pay In-Person
2. Pay Online
3. Pay through App
4. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill at the respective electricity office. Please use the below links to get contact details of respective division / Sub division. : Contact link
Go to the respective division / Subdivision and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

GANGTOK ZONE

Please select “QUICKPAY ONLINE GANGTOK ZONE” option listed on the right side of the page under Bill Payment session to reach QUICK PAY ONLINE page
Under QUICK PAY ONLINE page hit “Agree” tab at the bottom of the screen to get next page
In the given page, enter Contract Account Number at the prompted place and hit “Next” tab as provided to get name of account holder and prompt to select payable category. User shall select Bill amount.
Once the above option is selected, a drop down display of consumer payment details will be provided.
If the details and amount are appropriate, then click select the box under select column for the bill you wanted to make payment and hit “Proceed to Pay” to get Pay tab for user to reconfirm. Please hit Pay to get new page for payment gateway page
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment(Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

OTHER THAN GANGTOK ZONE

Please select “QUICKPAY ONLINE OTHER AREAS” option listed on the right side of the page under Bill Payment session to reach next page
In the given page, enter Contract Account Number, Consumer Id followed by Capcha and hit “Submit” tab as provided to get next page
User shall enter / select appropriate options and hit required option to grt successive page to reach payment gateway page
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment(Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

RTGS / NEFT: Note: The system of RTGS/NEFT payment wherein everyone pays into one Account Number 100135003100001 IFSC code IBLK0108SIC and subsequently logs in and enters their payment details like UTR number etc., in the departmental portal shall be discontinued w.e.f. 01/09/2018.

Apply formally to the concerned Assistant Engineer requesting to make electricity payments through RTGS/NEFT route.

After internal processing, applicant will be issued with a unique account number that will be allocated to the consumer by SISCO Bank, Gangtok.
Upon receipt of the unique account number, carefully record this number along with the IFSC code of the designated bank (i.e. SISCO Bank, Gangtok).
Make all future electricity payments to this number using the IFSC code as provided.

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly

Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private app’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Odisha Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

ValidityEdit

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
