After applying for the Prime Minister Scholarship scheme, the scholarship has to be renewed each academic year till the completion of the course.

Apply Online - Renew Scholarship for Children of Ex-Servicemen (PMSS) Online with images

  1. Children of Ex-servicemen could apply for renewal of PMSS through the link: Apply Online
  2. Before applying online, download the annexures given and complete them Annexure 1, Annexure 2, Annexure 3,Annexure 4 (Annexure 4 is only applicable to students who have completed the course)
  3. Make sure that the original format given in the annexures is followed. Applicants should not create their own format for these annexures. Only authorized signatures will be accepted.
  4. Make sure you have all the documents listed under “Required Documents" section. Scanned copies of the originals have to be uploaded.
  5. Click on the link to login: Apply Online
  6. Use the user id and password with which you have already registered while applying for the PMSS.
  7. After successful login, click on “PMSS” and click on “Renewal Application”.
  8. Fill all the required details and upload all the scanned copies of the required original documents.
  9. Check all the filled details and click on “Save and Forward”. Make sure to click “Save and forward” after completing the application, otherwise the application will remain in the dashboard without being submitted.



Apply In Person

  1. To Renew Scholarship for Children of Ex-Servicemen (PMSS), the applicant has to approach the DEPARTMENT OF EX-SERVICEMEN WELFARE – link
  2. The applicant has to download the all the four application form from the following link – link
  3. Enter all the details in the application form.
  4. Also check the attach documents which is mentioned in the link as well in “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. Once all the process gets completed, the applicant gets call from the office.
  12. The applicant has to visit the office for further process.
  13. The processing time for this procedure is up to 15 – 30 days.

  • Annexure-1 (Bonafide Certificate duly signed by Vice Chancellor / Principal / Vice Principal / Dean / Associate Dean / Registrar / Deputy Registrar / Director / Deputy Director.
  • Annexure-2 ((Instructions and Certificate / Undertaking from Student / ESM).
  • Annexure-3 (Aadhaar Linking Certificate duly completed and signed by Bank Manager) (SBI / PNB only).
  • Original mark sheets (both semesters / academic year) issued by university. Computer generated mark sheets not to be uploaded.
  • Annexure-4 (Not applicable to all Students). Certificate signed by University to be uploaded by those students whose mark sheets are issued by the University on completion of entire course.
  • First page of Bank Pass Book or cancelled cheque leaf of student (if Name and Account Number is printed).
  • Aadhaar Card of Student showing name and address.

  • Make sure that the Mobile No and E-mail ID given for PMSS remains functional till you complete the course since all alert and SMS about status of your application are sent on the registered Mobile No and E-Mail. In case of any change, make sure to inform KSB so that the records could be updated.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced in the Academic year 2006-07. The purpose of this scheme was to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel.
  • By availing this scholarship, eligible boy candidates could get Rs.2500 per month and eligible girl candidates could get Rs.3000 per month.
  • The scholarship should be renewed every academic year by the selected students in order to receive the scholarship amount every year.


Information which might helpEdit

  • For continuation of scholarship, it is mandatory that the student has passed in all subjects in each semester / year in first attempt.
  • Do not send renewal applications during January to May as the PMSS staffs are busy in selection and preparation of merit list for 1st Year students during this time of the year.

After the selection of the candidate, the scholarship amount will be sent into the bank account during the first-year. The next payments will be made after successful completion of each academic year, without any discontinuation also on completing each year with minimum 50% marks up to the final academic year. In case a student has failed in any subject / semester and / or aggregates, his / her scholarship will be closed forever and any communication regarding the matter will not be entertained.
