Procedure

• This service is for the purpose of updating the technical specifications listed on the vehicle registration only. All modifications made must first be approved by the Ministry of Interior – modifying the vehicle registration should be your final step.

Step 1: Make request for modification

1. The first step is to make an application with the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to carry out modifications to your vehicle. You can do this by visiting the General Directorate of Traffic Headquarters at Madinet Khalifa (Google map location ), or any of the Traffic Service Centers.
2. Here you will be issued with a Request Form to amend the Vehicle Technical Data form to fill and complete. You can also fill in, then print out the application form from the MOI Website through the following link: Request Form to amend the Vehicle Technical Data
   • You are to explain the current state of the vehicle and required modifications
3. Attach the required documents to the application form and submit it to the General Directorate of the Traffic Department.

Step 2: Make modification and complete technical inspections.

1. You should then proceed to have the modifications you requested in your application done to your vehicle. Make sure you carry out the modifications as specified in the application and do not deviate from your request.
2. After caring out the modifications take your vehicle to the technical inspection department in the Industrial Area for inspection. This is to make sure that the changes which have been made are identical to what you required.
3. If everything is order, you will be issued with a technical inspection certificate.

Step 3: Make application to modify vehicle registration information.

1. You should then visit the registration department General Directorate of Traffic department to make the application to modify vehicle registration information.
2. Here you should present the report of technical inspection from the technical inspection department verifying that all the modifications made are what was requested in the Request Form to amend the Vehicle Technical Data Form
3. After verification and confirmation that everything is in order the modified information will be updated in the vehicles registration certificate.
4. A fee of QR50 is charged for the process and it takes approximately a period of one week for the whole process.
5. A new registration certificate reflecting the modifications is issued to the vehicle owner after the process.

'Note:

• As for a change in the base, inspection will be completed in Qatar Technical Inspection Company to check safety, durability and vehicle operation validity.

Instructions

• Download and fill out the application form, explaining current and required shape.
• Attaching documents proving the owner and the vehicle ownership and revenue stamp.
• Take the vehicle to complete technical inspection in Industrial Area and pay the appropriate fees.
• Visit the technical inspection department after the change/ modification to make sure the change is identical to what is required.
• Visit the registration department to modify the shape in the device and get the new-shape ownership after paying the appropriate fees.
• As for a change in the base, inspection will be completed in Qatar Technical Inspection Company to check safety, durability and vehicle operation validity.
