Puducherry - Raise request for Shifting Electric Transformer

- This procedure explains various ways to raise a request for the shifting of the electric transformer.
Apply In-Person:
- To apply In-Person, you should visit the allocated EB office for your location. You can find the office location and contact details on the Electricity Department Government of Puducherry website. Location and Contacts
- While applying In-Person, the consumer should obtain the application from the authorities in the office, or else you can download it from the Electricity Department Government of Puducherry website. Application Form
- You have to fill in the details such as:
- Consumer No
- Name and address
- Telephone no. of the complainant
- Type of Complaint(You have to tick mark on “Others” option)
- Brief description of Complaint
- Any other information
- Date
- Signature of complainant
- You can also write the request letter mentioning the reasons for the shifting the electric transformer.
- First, the letter or the complaint form should be submitted to the Level-I officers.
- If your complaint is unsatisfactory or unsolved by the Level-I officers, the complaint can be lodged to the Level-II officers of the particular department based on the nature of your complaint.
- Level I and II officers of the electricity department are Junior Engineer (JE), Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Assistant Engineer (AE), Superintending Engineer (SE), Executive Engineer (EE).
- Fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents.
- Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
- The authorities will go through the application form and provide an estimate of the amount to be paid to the Electricity Board.
- The estimated amount has to be paid in the Demand Draft (DD).
- After giving the form, they will provide you the Complaint Number and the payment slip with the “Acknowledgement of Complaint” form.
- You have to keep those details safe for future verification and reference purposes.

EligibilityEdit
To request a shift in the transformer, the eligibility criteria are:
- You should have the Consumer Number, any valid Identity proof (Ex. Aadhar Card), and the recently paid electricity bill for the mentioned location for shifting.
- You should be the resident or the owner of the land (leaser too) in the mentioned area for “shifting the electric transformer.”
FeesEdit
- The fee structure for the shifting of the electric transformer is given by the respective Electricity Board Officials depending on the location, wiring, and the power supply details of the particular transformer/pole.
- The consumer should bear the cost of shifting the transformer/pole. The charges will include,
- Charges for dismantling at the old site
- Charges for transport from the old site to the new site
- Charges for re-erection at the new site
- Depreciation on retrievable old materials, if any, not reused at the site
- Cost of new materials, if required
- Cost of irretrievable materials
- Overhead charges.
- The evaluated fee should be paid in advance in the form of a Demand Draft to the Puducherry Electricity Department.
