Philippines - Online Renewal National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance


STEP 01: Before you proceed in renewing your NBI clearance, make sure that you have all the necessary requirements with you. To know which document you will need, please check out this link : Required Documents NBI Clearance
STEP 02: Set up an appointment to renew your NBI clearance. Appointments are booked online. Visit NBI’s website Apply Online.
When the page loads, the Data Privacy Content pop up will appear, click the “I AGREE” button (Encircled in WHITE) to proceed.

STEP 03: Another pop up will appear containing latest advisories from the NBI, simply click the “CLOSE” button (Encircled in WHITE) to move on with your application.

STEP 04: If you have been issued an NBI clearance from the year 2014 to present, and it is your first time applying online, you will need to register to the website first. Simply complete the form, and when you are done, click the “PROCEED” button (Encircled in WHITE).

STEP 05: If you have requested an NBI clearance before online, you may proceed with the renewal process by logging in to your account. Enter your email address (the one you used when you registered), your password and then click the “SIGN IN” button (Highlighted with WHITE box).

STEP 06: When you click the “Application” button (Highlighted with WHITE box), you will see that your profile, under ‘Application Type’ is showing a ‘RENEW’ status (Encircled in PURPLE). In this case you may go ahead and click the “APPLY FOR CLEARANCE” button (Highlighted with LIGHT BLUE box).
NOTE: NBI will use all the information you have provided the last time you applied for a clearance. In case there are changes in your personal information like address, name, or civil status, make sure that you edit your information first. To do this, click the “EDIT INFORMATION” button (Highlighted with GREEN box)

STEP 07: On the pop up, indicate the type of valid ID you will be presenting for the procedure (you will be asked to show the same ID on the day of your appointment). You will also need to provide the ID number. After that, click the “I Agree” button (Encircled in YELLOW).

STEP 08: A reminder about the importance of the reference number will appear. Once you are done reading, click the “Close” button (Encircled in YELLOW).

STEP 09: Next, you will need to set up the details of your appointment. First, select an NBI Branch where you would like to renew your clearance. Use the drop down menu for this action (Encircled in RED).

STEP 10: After choosing a branch, you will then need to select a date and time for your application. You can see inside the YELLOW box all currently available date and time. Simply click the slot of your choice to proceed.

STEP 11: You will see on the right side of the page, a summary of your schedule and payment details (Highlighted in YELLOW).

STEP 12: Inside the YELLOW box are ways on how you can pay for your clearance. You may click on the boxes with different payment modes to know specific details about the payment process.

STEP 13: In order to complete your transaction you will need to pay for the clearance before the deadline. And when you pay, you will be asked to indicate the reference number of your transaction on the payment form. To view your reference number, click the “Transactions” button (Highlighted with WHITE box).
The reference number can be seen on the summary of transaction (Highlighted in RED)
Your transaction status will be labelled ‘Paid’ once your payment has cleared (Encircled in GREEN).

STEP 14: On the day of your appointment, do not forget to bring a valid ID (the one you provided on Step 07) and your reference number written on a piece of paper.
STEP 15: They will take a photo of you, scan your fingerprints and save a digital copy of your signature.
STEP 16: If your application resulted to 'No Hit' that means you have no criminal record. You may now proceed to the printing area and collect your NBI Clearance. For those who got a ‘With Hit’ result, you will need to come back as advised by the clerk. Take note of the date and keep your receipt, you will need it when you collect your clearance.
