Philippines - Obtain a Barangay Certificate (Certificate of Residency)

Please read the guide below to understand how to obtain a Barangay Certificate:
- Prepare the requirements:
- Your recent Community Tax Certificate or Cedula;
- The application form (that can be taken from the Barangay Hall)
- Your recent Community Tax Certificate or Cedula;
- Apply for the Barangay Certificate
Visit the Barangay Hall or Municipal Hall Map in your place of residence. Inform the officer that you are applying for a Barangay Certificate. You should state the reason why you need this certificate and request the application form and complete it. Submit the required documents and pay the applicable fee. Now you can wait for your Barangay Certificate to be released. The processing time is in day.
Apply In Person:
- To Obtain a Barangay Certificate (Certificate of Residency), the applicant has to approach the Quezoncity – link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee usually around PHP 20 to PHP 50.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once the certificate is ready, return to the Barangay Hall to claim it.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
