Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Technical Retirement, the applicant has to approach the Social Security System link
    NOTE: Select the region, and branch and click the “Search” button.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. There is no fee for Technical Retirement.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  12. The applicant will get the retirement amount from the submitted bank account.
  13. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply online

  1. To Apply for SSS Retirement Benefit, the applicant has to use the following link
  2. Log in to the My.SSS account by clicking the "MEMBER" button (on the right side of the page under "PORTAL").
  3. Look for the "E-services" tab on the menu then click "Submit Retirement Application".
  4. The applicant will be required to enter his/her separation date in the space provided. Once the applicant is done click the "PROCEED" button.
  5. On the next page, please review the address, contact details, and employment history. If correct, proceed to check your eligibility to receive a retirement benefit.
  6. Answer some questions regarding employment as a mineworker and racehorse jockey (if applicable) as well as having dependent child/ren.
  7. Indicate on the application on base of the applicant's wish to avail of the advance 18 months retirement pension, by either clicking "YES" or "NO".
  8. There is no fee for Technical Retirement.
  9. The applicant has to read the terms and click "Certify and Proceed".
  10. Enter all the necessary details in the application form.
  11. Also, upload the necessary documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  12. Once completed, click the “Submit” button.
  13. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  15. The applicant will get the retirement amount from the submitted bank account.

EligibilityEdit

The retirement person should be:

  • At least 60 years old and separated from employment or has ceased to be a Self Employed (SE)/OFW/Household Helper (optional retirement)
  • At least 65 years old whether still employed/SE, working as OFW/Household Helper or not (technical retirement)
  • At least 55 years old and separated from employment or has ceased to be an SE, if an “underground mineworker” (optional retirement)
  • At least 60 years old whether still employed/SE or not, if an “underground mineworker” (technical retirement) or
  • A total disability pensioner who has recovered from disability and is at least 60 years old (or at least 55 years old, if an underground mineworker).

  • There is no fee for Technical Retirement.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A lifetime cash benefit paid to a retiree who has made at least 120 monthly contributions before the semester of retirement. The monthly pension is paid for not less than 60 months.

A Retirement Benefit is a cash benefit disbursed to a SSS member who can no longer work due to old age. The benefit can be given every month or in a lump sum.

  • Monthly pension – disbursed to a retiree regularly for a lifetime (until the retiree's death).
  • Lump sum amount – one-time payment granted to a retiree. The amount is equal to the total contributions paid by the member and/or by his/her ERs, including interest earned.
