The Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) is an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and a membership institution. It protects and promotes the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents in jobsites abroad and at home in the country. If you are a Philippines citizen who wish to work or are already broad that need secure certain documents to support your right to work overseas. This is where the OWWA membership comes in. Aside from tracking the kababayan working all over the world, the OWWA is the dedicated agency that protects and upholds the rights of OFWs wherever they may be across the globe. Please follow the below guiding to apply for Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) Membership:

  1. Prepare the requirements:
    • The OWWA membership Form: link
    • Your copy of existing employment contract or Certificate of Employment (with legal English translation if needed)
    • Your photocopy of valid passport
    • Your photocopy of residence ID card
    • The additional documents:
      • The registration certificate number of the company (for case of company employer)
      • The national ID number of the Individual employer (Residence card number) for case of Individual employer.
  2. Apply for OWWA membership
Visit a suitable OWWA agency and present the required documents. Please follow all of officer’s guiding to apply for your Overseas Workers Welfare Association Membership. Pay the applicable fee and an Official Receipt will be issued by the office. The membership shall be active for two years upon payment of fee and subject for renewal after two years.

A customer who still incorrectly dials the old seven-digit number will hear a special announcement saying the format has been changed to eight-digit, for a period of three months after the migration (March 18, 2019 to June 17, 2019).
