Procedure

The application for renewal of the license is to be made within thirty days from the date of its expiry.
Apply In-Person:

1. Applicant shall apply with their respective labour office from where the license was obtained.

3. Go to the respective office.
4. Obtain the renewal application form or write on an A4 sheet as advised. Applicant shall get the information from the respective department website too.

6. Complete the application form. Attach the required documents along with original license issued/granted. Also attach original copies of the Treasury Challans depositing the requisite amount of renewal fees. Please check the required documents section of this page.
7. Submit the document set to the designated authority. Authority will check he submitted application. If all are in place, applicant will be provided with acknowledgement for the submitted application.
8. This application will be processed internally.
9. Applicant gets notification about the process through their registered mobile number.
10. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
11. If the application is found to be correct in all respect then renewed Contract Labour License is issued to the applicant.
12. This certificate shall be hand delivered or sent through post as per applicable norms.
    

Apply Online - Renew Contract Labour Licence for Contractor Online with images

1. Go to the online portal:online portal
2. In the given page please click “LOGIN” button at the top right corner and select “Investor login”
3. User will reach Investor login page.
4. Please enter the user name, password , captcha as appropriate and click “LOGIN” button to login.

   • If you are a new user then use the “New user Register Now” option and follow the registration page prompts and section to complete the registration process and then login.

5. Once login, applicant will reach dashboard.
6. From the list of services, applicant can select “License and Renewal of License for contractors under provisions of The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970” by clicking on right icon.
7. Applicant will get online application form. Please fill in all the relevant details as per page prompts
8. Upload required documents as per the prompt.
9. Upon submission, the applicant will confirm payment of fees by clicking on the ‘Pay Now’ button
10. Pay necessary fee using payment gateway or by selecting challan to pay over the respective counter.
11. Finally submit the application online using applicable button.
12. A system generated acknowledgement will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
13. An SMS alert will be sent to the applicant regarding application submission.
14. Application will be forwarded online to the concerned department.
15. After scrutiny by the designated authority, short fall in the documentation if any will be intimated through SMS along with the date of inspection.
16. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
17. The Application along with report will be forwarded to the issuing authority concerned.
18. If the applications is found to be correct in all respect then a Contract Labour License is issued to the applicant.
19. This certificate shall be hand delivered or sent through post as per applicable norms.
    

Note:

• If no work is executed by the contractor than a no work certificate from the principal employer should accompany the application of Renewal.
• Make sure to keep the “First-Aid Facilities” in the premises during inspection.
• It is advised to submit additional set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department.

Eligibility

• Any entrepreneur/applicant having a valid license of a contractor can apply for renewal
• Applicant should not be convicted (at any time during a period of five years immediately preceding the date of application)

Validity

• Every licence granted is valid for twelve months from the date it is granted.

Instructions

• The licence is non-transferable.
• The number of workmen employed as contract labour in the establishment shall not on any day, exceed the mentioned numbers as per application.
• The fees paid for the grant of the licence shall be non-refundable.
• The rates of wages payable to the workmen by the contractor shall not be less than the rates prescribed for the schedule of employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, where applicable, and where the rates have been fixed by agreement/ settlement or award, not less than the rates fixed.
