Parents Learning Allowance: This type of allowance is intended to help students with dependent children with any course-related costs. You do not need to pay it back. The amount you can get depends on your circumstances. You could receive between 50 and 1,538 for the year. The allowance is usually in three instalments, one at the start of each term, direct to your bank account.
You can apply for Parents Learning Allowance even if you do not get the Childcare Grant.
Note: Single parents can also apply for a Special Support Grant and Parents Learning Allowance.
