Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Collection/Replacement of NYSC Certificate of Exemption in person, the applicant needs to visit his/her Institution of graduation or NYSC directorate headquarters.
  2. The address and contact details of the NYSC directorate headquarters can be found in the following link: Link
  3. Visit the office and obtain the application format (if any) for Collection/Replacement of NYSC Certificate of Exemption from the relevant department.
  4. Complete the application format with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
  5. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that you have attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page, as applicable.
  6. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment (if any) as directed by the officials.
  7. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
  8. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the Certificate.
  9. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be notified by the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means from his/her institution or NYSC directorate headquarters.

  • It is important that the completed form must contain all the information required properly and the form must be filled legibly, in order to get accepted by the authorities.
  • Make sure that you attach all the required documents as specified by the authority to avoid rejections.
  • Collection of Certificate of Exemption for home trained graduates is only done in the Institution of graduation and not in NYSC office whereas foreign graduates are advised to collect their certificates from the NYSC directorate headquarters at the stipulated time communicated.
  • Foreign Graduates must be physically present for Collection of Certificate of Exemption.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Any Nigerian Graduate graduated in their home country or abroad must possess an Exemption Certificate if he/she has the stipulated qualification of (B.SC, B.A or HND) from approved or accredited Institution by (NUC, NTBE or NCCE) and wants to make use of the exemption offered by the National Youth Services Corps.
