Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain FSSAI license as Fruit Importer, you have to approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.

3. For Fruit Importing, you have to approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.
4. Please collect the appropriate application form as per officer’s advice or write on a A4 sheet.
5. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
6. Fill all the required information in the form and Submit the form to the Commissioner of Food safety department. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
7. Please complete the application form and make sure you have all the documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the form to the Officer-In-Charge in the Food Safety department.
9. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
10. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the Fruit Importer and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise permission.
11. The applicant will be later requested to collect the FSSAI license as Fruit Importer on a specified date.

Apply Online:

1. To Apply FSSAI license as Fruit Importer through online, you can use the FOSCOS website. Please click the following link:Foscos Website
2. Click the “Login-Businesses” tab and Under User sign-in Box enter your Application Ref. No./License No./Certificate No. and Click on the “Proceed” button to login.
3. If you are a new user, then Click on the "Do you want to apply for New License/Registration" and click on the "Apply for License/Registration" tab in the new page.
4. Next select the state from the dropdown list box and read the Note.
5. Next select the Importer tab and click on the Importer option.
6. Next Click on the radio button and finally click on the “Proceed” tab.
7. On the next page, Click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
8. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required informations under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
9. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
10. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, Click on the “Save & Next”.
11. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save & Next”.
12. Under required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on the “Save & Next”.
13. Next pay the fees and submit the application.
14. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it and keep it safe for future reference.
15. You can track the application through the Home page.
16. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

Apply through mobile app:

1. The applicant willing to apply for FSSAI License as Fruit importer must download the mobile app.
2. The applicant can download the app from playstore using the following link.
3. Link: Food Safety Connect App
4. Once downloaded, the applicant need to register themselves in the app using their mobile number, email ID, address.
5. In the app main page, the applicant must click the button “FSSAI” in the main page.
6. Once selected, a new page opens. In the newly opened page, the applicant need to fill all the relevant questions asked.
7. Under the “kind of business” question, the applicant need to select “importers” button.
8. After completing all the questions, the applicant need to select “submit now” button at the bottom of the page.
9. Now the applicant can close the application

2. List of Directors with full address and contact details (mandatory for companies only)
3. Food Safety Management System plan or certificate (if any)
4. IE CODE document issued by DGFT
5. Declaration Form
6. List of fruit categories
7. Identity Proof Documents such as Ration Card, Department Issued ID, PAN Card, Passport, Senior Citizen Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card
8. Proof of possession of premises
9. Passport Size Photograph
10. Photo I.D and address proof issued by Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authorised Signatory.
11. Partnership Deed/Self Declaration for Proprietorship/Memorandum & Articles of Association towards the constitution of the firm
12. Form IX: Nomination of Persons by a Company along with the Board Resolution
