To apply for Duplicate Fitness certificate in New Delhi the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure
Completed respective application: (can be obtained from RTO)
The applicant should bring in their vehicle for inspection.
Present the completed application and documents in the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

Note: The duplicate Fitness will be marked in Red as “DUPLICATE”.

Apply Online - New Delhi Obtain Duplicate Vehicle Fitness Certificate Online with Images

Use the following link to reach the online portal for processing: online portal
When home page opens, user will have option to login or register into application.
If you are a new user, then use the registration tab on top of the screen to register. Just fill the prompted queries like name, email, mobile etc, and you will be authenticated for your email address to give user id and password.
Being a registered user, one can select login option provided on the top of the screen.
In the new page please enter the user id and password. Followed by “captcha” and hit submit to get the new page.
Here. Please select “Duplicate Fitness Certificate” under online services menu to get the new screen.
In the screen given, please enter vehicle registration number, Last five digits of chassis number and registered mobile number then hit generate OTP.
Please fill in the received OTP in the given box and hit submit to get a page with information of owner and vehicle.
Now please follow the screen prompts as appropriate to finish the online process for renewal of FC

Appointment

As you process above procedure, there will be a list of menu on the left side of the screen and select “Appointment” option to get option to process.
Please enter the application number on the box provided to get information on details of applicant and others.
Please select the calendar icon next to “select date” to choose slot for appointment

Upload documents

Please select DMS(Upload Docs) option listed on the left side of the screen to reach new page
In the new page upload the required documents as prompted and hit submit to complete the document uploading

Vehicle should be produced for inspection
Vehicle owner is eligible to apply for renewal of Fitness Certificate

ValidityEdit

In case of Private vehicles the fitness certificates is valid for 15 years and there after renewed at every 5 years
In case of Transport Vehicles the fitness certificate is issued for a new vehicle for 2 years and subsequently renewed every year

Need for the DocumentEdit

Fitness Certificate is an official document certifying that the holder’s vehicle is fit to drive at public places. As this certificate is a very important document in renewal of permits. One has to get the duplicate of the FC as and when he found that he has lost / misplaced / toned
The registration of vehicle is treated as valid only if the vehicle has valid certificate of fitness.
The fitness is checked and certified by the Registering Authority
Fitness certificate is issued to check the pollution caused by the emission of smoke from the vehicles, to maintain the vehicle in proper condition and to avoid accidents
