Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Applicant who is eligible to take the admission in government girls hostel shall visit the respective social welfare office.
2. Link for contact details:link.
3. Please go to the office. Consult with the authority about the process and mandatory requirements to obtain admission for Pre-matric hostel / Post-matric hostel as appropriate.
4. Obtain the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet.
5. Submit the completed application form along with required documents as mentioned in the required documents section below.
6. Authorities will check the submitted documents.
7. Pay the appropriate fees as authorities quote. If all are in place this application will be processed.
8. Based on the merit list and Quota, If your application gets short-listed, you will receive a letter (or phone call) from the office and will might have face-to-face interview.
9. If the applicant is selected for admission, then a notification letter or phone call from the respective department authority will reach the applicant.
   

Note:

• It is advised to submit additional set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department.
• As different state has different parameters and regulations, as a first step applicant shall consult their local designated authority

Eligibility

• The girl students in the age group of 14 to 18 years studying in class IX to XII and belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Minority Communities and BPL families are eligible.
• Students who are currently studying.
• Students residing in the state.
• Students whose castes are included in Central/State/UT list of OBC and who do not belong to the "Creamy Layer"

Fees

• The income from all sources should not exceed as per the norms as fixed by the government (For ex Rs.44500 per annum)
• Pre – Matric Hostels: Admissions in the Hostels are given to Poor SC Students who are having White Ration Card and whose annual income is below 45,000/-
• Post – Matric Hostels: Admissions in the Hostels are given to Poor SC Students who are having White Ration Card and whose annual income is below 45,000/-

Validity

• The admission is valid for the period of the course for which the candidate is admitted.

Need for the Document

• For those girl students who belongs to socially and educationally backward classes, especially from rural areas to enable them to pursue education
• Most of the higher educational institutions or institutions of repute are located in urban areas and thus not accessible for students of poor families residing in remote rural areas. These government girls hostel has benefitted such children especially girls.
