Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To register as a Tourist Operator, applicant has to visit the Meghalaya Tourism Department Corporation.

3. Application form can be downloaded from the below link: Tour Operator Application
4. Now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below with the completed application form.
6. Check the application form and then submit it to the Director of Tourism in Meghalaya Tourism Department Corporation office address mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
7. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
8. MTDC authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the touring company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide a franchise permission.
9. The applicant will be later requested to collect the Tour Operator License on a specified date.

1. To Register as Tour Operator Or Travel Agent License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link – link
2. The applicant has to click “Click here to View/Download” to start the application.
3. The applicant has to Login with login ID and password and enter captcha for verification. If the applicant doesn’t have account click “Register HERE” and create an account.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Review the application and click “Submit”.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a registered company or Partnership Firm
• The applicant should have been in operation for a minimum period of one year before the date of application.
• The applicant should be an income-tax assesses and should have GST and PAN registration.
• The minimum office space should be of 10 x 8ft. with a permanent address and Websites.

Fees

The applicant have to deposit DD for an amount of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) in the favour of “Director of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya”.

Validity

The license shall be granted for three years.

Instructions

• The approved applicant would have option to book MTDC hotels and MTDC package tours through online, on provide user credentials.
• The Tour Operator shall give an affidavit to the effect that they shall adhere to the eligibility criteria for the approved period and liable to de-recognition for failure to fulfil the criteria.
• It is statutory for the applicant to display details of various MTDC offered packages, list of hotel and also about L.T.C facilities available for MTDC operated tours.
• All cancellation and postponement should be done through online and charges are as per the MTDC policy.

• Tour operator must be registered to avail concessions and incentives from the state and central government.

• Tour operator is one who makes arrangements for transport, accommodation, entertainment and other tourism related activities.
