Manipur - Test Insecticide Residue (Sample )

To apply for insecticide residue testing the applicant must follow the below procedure.
Apply In-Person
- The applicant has to reach out to the corresponding pesticide testing laboratory in the state for the application form.
- The contact details of the laboratory is provided in location and contacts section below.
- Applications can also be made in-person through the agriculture department offices and sub-offices.
- Make sure all the required documents are available as stated in the required documents section below.
- The applicant has to fill up the requested details in the application form and then submit the application form along with the supporting documents.
- The applicant has to pay the application fee as requested as mentioned in the Fees section below.
- After the authorities validate your application and the documents that are submitted, they will initiate the process of testing the pesticide residue.
- The applicant will get an intimation regarding the inspection of the premise on the registered mobile through sms /call.
- The insecticide inspector shall inspect the premise and collect the samples for purposes of test or analysis.
- The following intimation form is provided by the officials after the inspection. Intimation form link – Form Link .
- Once the testing is done the test reports are generated and is intimated to the applicant by sms/call.
- The applicant can collect them from the laboratory.

The presence of pesticide residue in the manufacturing process can lead to the steady accumulation of harmful chemical residues entering the food chain. This subsequently leads to a high risk of health impacts on the environment, humans and animals. To minimise the risk of negative health impacts, we need to comply with the relevant guidelines and standards for minimising levels of harmful pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides in the food chain.

Functions of Central Insecticide Laboratory:
- To analyse such samples of insecticides sent to it under the Act by any officer or authority and submission of certificates of analysis to the concerned authority.
- To carry out such investigations as may be necessary for the purpose of ensuring the conditions of Registration of Insecticides.
- To determine the efficacy and toxicity of insecticides;
- To carry out such other functions as may be entrusted to it by the Central Government or by a State Government with the permission of the Central Government & after consultation with the Central Insecticides Board.
Activities of Central Insecticide laboratory:
- To verify Quality of samples of Insecticides, submitted by any Officer or Authority Authorized by the Central or State Government.
- To investigate Insecticides with a view to verify conditions of registration.
- To determine efficacy and Toxicity of Insecticides; and
- Any other function as may be entrusted by the Central Government or by a State Government with the permission of the Government and after consultation with the Central Insecticides Board
