Maharashtra - Get Scholarship for Children of Ex-Servicemen (PMSS)

Every academic year, a total number of 5500 wards / widows of Ex-servicemen are selected for this scholarship scheme. Only online applications are acknowledged for this procedure.
Apply Online
- Children of Ex-servicemen could apply for PMSS through the link: apply Online
- Before applying online, download the annexures given and complete them Annexure 1, Annexure 2, Annexure 3
- Make sure that the original format given in the annexures is followed. Applicants should not create their own format for these annexures. Only authorized signatures will be accepted.
- Make sure you have all the documents listed under “Required Documents" section.
- If you are a new user, click on the link: apply Online to register a new user account.
- Upload your passport size photo with maximum size of 1mb in the required format and click on “Upload”.
- To register as a new user, fill in the required details of Part 1 and Part 2. Fill in the verification code and click on “submit” button.
- The applicant will now receive the activation link on the registered email id.
- Click on the activation link. Now enter your user id and password to log in.
- Click on “New Application” and select “Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme”.
- Fill in all the required details and upload all the scanned copies of the required documents. Scanned copies of the originals have to be uploaded.
- Check all the filled details and click on “Save and Forward”. Make sure to click “Save and forward” after completing the application, otherwise the application will remain in the dashboard without being submitted.
- If required, visit the Zila Sainik Board to verify whether your application has been uploaded to their portal.

- Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard Certificate duly filled up and signed by ZSB/Coast Guard HQ as per Annexure-1
- Bonafide Certificate duly filled up correctly and signed by Vice Chancellor / Principal/ Vice Principal/Dean/Associate Dean/Registrar/Dy Registrar/Director/Dy Director of the Institute/College as per Annexure-2
- Certificate from his/her bank stating that Aadhaar Card of student linked with his / her bank account number as per Annexure-3
- Matriculation Certificate for verifying the Date of Birth
- Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) certificate as applicable.(10+2 Mark sheet / Graduation (mark sheets of 3 years) / Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters)
- 1st page of Bank Pass Book (preferably PNB/SBI only) clearly showing name and A/c Number of Student and IFS code of the bank.
- Aadhaar Card of Student.
- PPO/ESM Identity Card for Category 6 and the following supporting documents in case of Category 1 to 5
- Category-1: Part II Order in case of Army/ Gen form in case of Navy and POR in case of Air Force
- Category-2: Part II Order in case of Army/ Gen form in case of Navy and POR in case of Air Force
- Category-3: Part II Order in case of Army/ Gen form in case of Navy and POR in case of Air Force
- Category-4: Part II Order in case of Army/ Gen form in case of Navy and POR in case of Air Force
- Category-5: Award Certificate along with Gazette Notification.
- Category-6: Original PPO or ESM Identity Card to be scanned and uploaded.

EligibilityEdit
- Only students who have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation can apply for PMSS.
- Children of ESM / Ex-Coast Guard
- Students pursuing diploma courses are not eligible
Applications of the students under the following category are not eligible:
- Students who have already availed the benefit of PMSS before.
- Students who are pursuing their degree abroad or through distance learning course.
- Students with less than 60% marks in MEQ. Total of marks obtained in all subjects / all semesters / academic years will be taken into consideration and re-calculated.
- Students pursuing academic course and courses which are not included in List of Courses for PMSS.
- Students studying 2nd or subsequent year of the course (except Lateral Entry and Integrated Courses).
- Students who have already availed scholarship / concession from some other source which is more than the amount given by PMSS.

InstructionsEdit
- Make sure that the Mobile No and E-mail ID given for PMSS remains functional till you complete the course since all alerts and SMS about status of your application are sent on the registered Mobile No and E-Mail. In case of any change, make sure to inform KSB so that the records could be updated.
- Keep your user id and password safe for renewing the scholarship in the next academic year.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced in the Academic year 2006-07. The purpose of this scheme was to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel.
- By availing this scholarship, eligible boy candidates could get Rs.2500 per month and eligible girl candidates could get Rs.3000 per month.
Information which might helpEdit
- The merit list of selected candidates will be uploaded on the KSB website.
- The PMSS scheme is allowed only for two children of the ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard.
- Details of all children should be given in para 12 of Annexure 1. It should be given according to the Discharge Book / Certificate of the Ex-servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard. In case the child was born after the retirement / release, an affidavit/self-certificate is to be prepared, scanned and uploaded by the Ex-serviceman.
- Every year, 5500 scholarships are awarded. It is equally divided amongst boys and girls i.e. 2750 each.
- The scholarships are paid for a duration of one to five years according to the course structure.

After selection of the candidate, the scholarship amount will be sent into the bank account during the first-year. The subsequent payments will be made after successful completion of each academic year, if the student does not discontinue and also completes each year with minimum 50% marks till the final academic year. In case a student has failed in any subject / semester and / or aggregates, his / her scholarship will be closed forever and any communication regarding the matter will not be entertained.
