Apply In Person

1. To apply or renew Slaughter House License or Permit, please visit the FSSAI head office/ Village Panchayat/Municipal Corporation in your respective area. The address and contact details of the office can be found in the following

5. Visit the Office and get the application form to apply or renew slaughter house license or permit from the relevant department, or you can download the application forms from the following FSSAI Form B link.
6. Please fill the application form with essential information and details and it should be attested with the applicant’s signature.
7. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed in “Required Documents” section of this page. Attach all the important documents mentioned to the application form.
8. Then, it should be submitted to the relevant authority. Also pay the required fees for the application process at the office as directed by the officials. Please collect the acknowledgement slip for the paid fee. Keep it safe for future reference.
9. Your application and attached documents will be sent for verification to check, if there is any discrepancy.
10. After all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the application and proceed with the license issuance/ renewal process.
11. Once the license is ready to be collected, office will inform the applicant to collect it through any applicable means.

• List of Directors with full address and contact details (mandatory for companies only)
• Name and List of Equipment and Machinery along with the number, installed capacity and horse power used
• Photo I.D and address proof issued by the Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authorized Signatory- Copy of Pan Card/Aadhar card/ Voter id/ driving license
• Proof of possession of premises. (Sale deed/ Rent agreement/ Electricity bill, etc.)

Eligibility

• Any person who wishes to set up a slaughter house can apply for FSSAI/ Village panchayatraj/ Municipal corporation license to run their business.
• The certificate should be obtained verification from the FSSAI Registration & Food Safety License for Meat Shop, India/ Executive Authority of respective area.

Validity

• FSSAI license is valid for a period of 1 to 5 years.
• It is mandatory to apply for license renewal 30 days before the expiry of the existing license.

Need for the Document

• Any person who wishes to own a Slaughtering house inside the state of MAHARASHTRA must possess the Slaughter house license obtained from the Directorate of FSSAI, India/ Executive Authority of respective area.
• FSSAI Registration & Food Safety License for Meat Shop: According to FSSAI it is important that all meat shop and slaughter houses need to apply for FSSAI license to run their business.
