Apply In-Person
- In order to apply for Local certificate, applicant has to go to the respective office of Block officer and apply.
- Link for contact details : linkPlease select the respective division names from the tabs to reach another page. Here select the name of the region for which the details are required. User will get the portal for the selected place. From here contact details for the zilla parishad can be obtained to contact the block development officials.
- Please go to the respective office. Submit the completed application obtained from office or download using the following link form link
- Authorities after checking the attached documents and details will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
- This application will be verified by the concerned authority / circle officer / Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and Revenue Inspector (RI).
- There will be a ground level verification and scrutiny of the documents and details provided.
- Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective authority to decide and issue the Local Certificate to the applicant.
- Applicant will get the certificate in 14 days after due verification.
Note:
- Apart from the mentioned required documents, applicant has to provide any additional information/document as asked by the respective authorities while applying.
- Fee requirement is also to be paid as authorities quote.
- Applicant may be asked to prove his stay in the state for a particular period(10 years/15 years etc).

- Use the following link to reach online portal. Link: link
- click on “citizen login” to login or use “New user? register here…” option to create new user account. Once it is created, log in using username and password.
- In the given page after login, search for “Revenue department” and click on it. Then click on “Age Nationality Domicile” to reach respective page.
- In the given page please fill necessary information prompted for online application then upload required document as appropriate and follow the rest of the screen prompt as applicable to apply online.
- User will get an acknowledgement. Keep it safe for future reference.
- This application will be processed further. Applicant will get certificate upon notification.
Apply through Mobile APP:
- To apply via app, the applicant shall download the app from the given link: Link
- Select the preferred language
- A list of options will be provided from which the applicant must choose the concerned department
- Now a list of services will be displayed from which the applicant must select the required service
- The applicant must also provide the nature of service verification and click on “Apply” to proceed to verification
- Once verified, the applicant will be informed about the further process.
Apply Through Centres:
- To apply for Local Certificate through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre/sewa kendra. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
- Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
- Submit the application form with “Required Documents” to the office. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
- The operator will process the application online.
- On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
- Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
- An ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
- Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the permission will be granted according to the application.

- Voter ID
- Birth Certificate.
- Educational certificates as applicable.
- Self declaration from the applicant.
- Residential proof of land or rented house (photocopy of land deed / rent receipt copy).
- Identity Proof (PAN card, Driving license, Voter card, Ration card, Passport).
- Age proof (birth certificate / school certificate).
- Passport size photograph.
- Aadhaar card.
- Copy of Indian Passport or Certified copy of NRC 1951(National Register of Citizens).
- Copy of the PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) of any member of the family of the applicant stating relationship, if any as applicable.
- Affix stamp as advised by authorities if required.

- The following are the eligibility criteria to obtain a local certificate from the State Government:
- Any person who is a resident of the state.
- Women not initially belonging to the state, but married to a permanent resident of the state.

The validity period of this certificate has been enhanced to life long as per GO (provided the individual residence is not changed)

Note:
Domicile Certificate can be made only in one State/UT. Obtaining Domicile Certificate from more than one State/UT is an offence.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A Domicile/Residence Certificate is generally issued to prove that the person bearing the Certificate is a Domicile/Resident of the State/UT by which the Certificate is being issued. This Certificate is required as proof of residence to avail Domicile/Resident Quotas in educational institutions and in the Government Service, as also in case of jobs where local residents are preferred.
- This certificate is used for many other purpose including Passport, Visa etc.,
