Procedure

• Under the Food Safety Act, trading, selling, and marketing agricultural products require a food license. As a result, an FSSAI certificate is required to conduct any agricultural-related activity.

Apply Online

1. To Apply for Agricultural Products Trade License, the applicant can make the application online via the FOSCOS website or tap the following link
2. The applicant has to scroll down and click the “Apply License/Registration” menu
3. Then the applicant has to select their respective state from the dropdown menu where premises is located for which License/Registration will be obtained.
4. Next, the applicant has to click the trade/ retail menu.
5. Next, select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of the business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.
6. On the next page, click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
7. The next Form-B page will be displayed, fill in all the required information under the premises details section and click on the “Save & Next” tab.
8. On the Production selection page, fill in all the details for DGFT (Directorate general of foreign trade) Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
9. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, click on the “Save & Next”.
10. Next, fill in all the Communication details and click on “Save & Next”.
11. Under the required documents section upload all the relevant documents and click on “Save & Next”.
12. Next, pay the fees and submit the application.
13. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it, and keep it safe for future reference.
14. You can track the application through the home page.
15. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Agricultural Products Trade License, the applicant has to approach the State FSSAI department link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer or it can be downloaded from the following link
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. Based on the outcome of the above report, recommendation, and other internal processing, the designated authority will grant the license with his/her seal and signature.
12. The license will be hand delivered, sent through post to the address mentioned while applying, or issued as per applicable norms.
13. This entire process can be completed in 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
