Lakshadweep - Obtain Food Safety License (FSSAI) for Sweet Manufacturing

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain FSSAI license for Sweet Manufacturing, You have to approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.

  3. You can download the application Form-B from the following link: link . After visiting the website click on the Form-B option located below in the State license category.
  4. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
  5. First download the Form-B from the link and fill all the required information and you need to submit the form to the Commissioner of Food safety department. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
  6. Please complete the application form and make sure you have all the documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the form to the Officer-In-Charge in the Food Safety department.
  8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
  9. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the Sweet Manufacturing and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise permission.
  10. The applicant will be later requested to collect the FSSAI license for the Sweet Manufacturing on a specified date.

Apply Online:

  1. To obtain license for Sweet manufacturing, you can use the FSSAI website. Please click the following link: FSSAI website
  2. If you are an existing user, please login using the credentials or if you are a new user you need to click “Sign Up” option on the right side of the home page.
  3. Now enter all the required information and enter the captcha code mentioned below and then click on “Register” button.
  4. After that you will receive a mail and now the username and password will be activated for new users.
    • Note: Due to Covid-19 issues, Auto -Issuance Of Licence/Registration is not working. So Click on the "Apply Now" option in the index page ,you will reach the next page where the declaration statement is available, under the statement “Accept” button is available now click the “Accept” button. (Skip Point 5,6 and Continue from the 7 th point.
  5. After successful log-in, please select menu “License/Registration” option and then select “Apply for license/Registration” option.
  6. After clicking “Apply for license/registration” option, in the next page declaration statement is available, under the statement “Accept” button is available. Now click the “accept” button.
  7. Now select the state from the dropdown menu on the right side of the page.
  8. Now there is a selection option available. If your business is carried in more than one state click ‘yes’ otherwise click ‘No’ option.
  9. Next select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of your business. If you annual turnover is more than 12Lakhs you will get form ‘A’ and if it is less than 12Lakhs you will get form ‘B’. Next You have to Click “Proceed“ tab
  10. In the next page click the “Click to apply” tab which is on the right side.
  11. Next page will lead you to fill online form for the user to fill the details and to upload photos and required documents.
  12. After completion of the application form and uploading the documents click on the “Save and next” tab to move to next page.
  13. Now download and print the application form and sign-on the printed form.
  14. Next you can submit the application form using two options “By Electronically” and “Physically”. By physically, you can submit the form to the respective officer and by Electronically, you can directly submit the form Online .Please select the preferable method.
  15. Now scan the signed application form and upload it into the website by selecting “Choose file” option and click the “Upload” tab.
  16. After uploading the documents click the “Submit” tab located at the bottom of the page to move to the next page.
  17. Now payment options will be provided in this page. Pay the correct amount and click “Proceed to pay” option.
  18. Click on the “Submit” tab to get the acknowledgment slip. Please keep the slip safely for future use.
  19. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

  3. Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation
  4. List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietor with address, contact details, and photo ID
  5. Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity
  6. List of food category to be manufactured
  7. Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address Proof of possession of premises
  8. NOC and copy of License from the manufacturer
  9. Copy of certificate obtained under Coop Act 1861/Multi state Coop Act 2002
  10. Food safety management system plan or certificate
  11. Layout plan
  12. List of equipment
  13. NOC from municipality
  14. Incorporation certificate
  15. List of directors/partners
  16. MOA and AOA
  17. Water test report
  18. One photo of the Food business Operator
  19. Source of raw material
  20. Identity Proof Documents such as Ration Card, Department Issued ID, PAN Card, Passport, Senior Citizen Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card
  21. Affidavit
  22. Water testing report from ISI approved facility
  23. Medical Certificates of Employees
  24. MOA( Memorandum of Association) of companies / Partnership deed if applicable
  25. Sanction layout plan
  26. Land (if not in Industrial area should be NA)
  27. List of machines with names which are used in manufacturing
  28. Additional documents(If any)

  • Renewal of the license should be done before expiry. If you caught manufacturing sweets without license you need to pay a huge amount as penalty.

Need for the Document

  • To manufacture sweets you need to obtain FSSAI license.
