This procedure explains various ways to Apply for Senior Citizen Certificate in Kinnaur.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the senior citizen certificate, please approach the concerned District Welfare/Thasildhar/Lokmitra Kendras office.
  2. Following link provides contact details: Department Of Health and Family welfare and Contact Details Of ULB
  3. Please go to the respective office to get details for applying and also the application form.

  5. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  6. Submit the completed form along with the documents to the concerned authority.
  7. This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
  8. After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
  9. The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 7 working days.

Apply Online

  1. Use the following link to reach online portal. Link: Online Portal
  2. Please select “Department wise list of services” tab on left part of page to get list of services on the page.
  3. Select the apply tab against “Sr. Citizen ID Card” under SC,OBC and minority affairs department to get next page.
  4. Here, use the new registration option to register to login or use the guest/new user option to fill the prompts and proceed.
  5. If registered, please provide the user id and password and other prompts and finally hit submit to initiate the process.
  6. Please follow the page prompts and hit respective tabs to apply online.

Required Documents[edit]

  • Application form. form for senior citizen certificate
  • Two photographs of the applicant.
  • Aadhaar card
  • ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
  • Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
  • Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
  • Birth certificate / document to prove the age
  • Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

Need for the Document[edit]

  • The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
  • The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.

Information which might help[edit]

  • Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
  • One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate
