Apply In-Person

  1. Ration Card holder should approach the ration shop of your area or respective local TSO (Taluk Supply Office)/DSO office as applicable.

  3. Please go to the respective office.
  4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used or use the following link to download the applicable link: link for form
  5. Please submit the completed application along with the required documents to the respective authority.
  6. Authorities after checking the submitted application along with the attached documents will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
  7. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. This application will be forwarded to the concerned Ward/ Grama Panchayath official for verification. The concerned official visits the house of the applicant for verification and approves the request, if the applicant is found eligible.
  9. The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
  10. After ground level verification ration card will be issued in 2 – 3 weeks as notified by the department

Note:If the application requires any scrutiny, respective authority will do the due diligence.



Apply through Akshaya

  1. Applicant must visit the nearest Akshaya center. Link for center: link
  2. Applicant shall obtain application form from the centre.
  3. Submit the completed application, document and applicable fees to the centre staff.
  4. Application submitted will be processed and receipt with application number will be issued.
  5. Application will be processed by the respective department. From this point onwards, authorities will do the due diligence to issue the card. SMS triggered update on application status will be sent to applicant mobile.



Apply Online:

  1. To Add or Delete Name in Ration Card, the applicant has to make the application online via e-Services - Ration Card Management System link
  2. The applicant has to login via user id and password and enter captcha and click “Sign In”. if the applicant doesn’t have an account, then the applicant can click the “create an account” to create a new one.
  3. After logging in the applicant has to select the service and enter their ration card number for further process.
  4. Then proceed by clicking on the option to add or delete the name from the existing ration card.
  5. Then applicant has to upload the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).
  6. Review the application and click submit.
  7. The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
  8. After ground level verification ration card will be issued in 2 – 3 weeks as notified by the department



Apply through Centre:

  1. To Add or Delete Name in Ration Card, the applicant has to approach nearby Common Service Center (CSC) Link
    • Note: The applicant has to select their state, district and block from the drop-down menu or the applicant can click on their respective district to find nearby center.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. The applicant has to attach the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).

    • Birth Certificate issued by the local municipal body or competitive authority
    • Original ration card of the family with parent’s name
    • ID Proof of Parents such as PAN Card, Aadhaar Card

EligibilityEdit

  • A valid ration card holder.
  • The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
  • New born above 5 years
  • Addition of member name after marriage

ValidityEdit

  • Validity remains same
  • Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • For implementation of the Targeted Public Distribution System(TPDS), Ration Card is being issued to all the heads of families, with details about family members included in the card. Based on their economic condition, people can buy goods like food grains, sugar and kerosene with the help of their ration cards.
