Applications to register as a Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN) are done online via the Nursing Councils of Kenya (NCK) Online Services Portal after the release of the Nursing Council of Kenya Professional Registration Examination results. Apply Online
- A trained nurse in Kenya aspiring to practice midwifery in Kenya as a Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN) can make an application for registration as a Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN) online, by visiting the Nursing Councils of Kenya (NCK) Online Services Portal through the following link NCK Online Service Portal
- Make sure you are eligible to make this application. The eligibility requirements are mentioned in the “Eligibility” section of this page.
- On the portal’s homepage, log into the NCK online portal account, using your NCK students index number and password to make the registration application. If you don’t have an account, you have to create one to make the registration application.
- For applicants who don’t have an account, click on the “Create Account” option to register for an account on the NCK online portal. This will direct you to the next page where you are to start your registration process.
- Under the “Register for Online Services” menu, input the required information.
- Select “STUDENT” under the “SELECT CATEGORY” option.
- Input your “NCK Student Index Number”
- Input your ID Number
- Input your email address
- Upon entering the required information for registration click on the “Register for Online Services” Tab.
- This will cause a confirmation email address to be sent to your email address.
- Log into your email address and confirm your registration by clicking on the “Complete Registration” button, in the email which has been sent to you.
- This will direct you back to the NCK Online Service Portal
- Please edit your profile by adding your Personal, Academic, and Professional details, uploading your Photograph, and Changing/Setting your password.
- Upon updating your profile, click on the “Registration” tab in the menu on the left pane, to enter into the next page.
- On the Registration application page, click on the “Make New Application” button to enter the next page where you are required to provide information for your application.
- Please provide the required information for registration. These include: -
- Practice Type (Select Clinical or Non-Clinical)
- Area of practice (Select Others)
- Area of specialty (Select Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse -Post Basic)
- Upload your passport photo.
- Upload heath Declaration (Not mandatory)
- Confirm that all the information you have given is correct and click on the “Submit Application” button.
- This will cause an invoice for payment of the registration application fees to be generated.
- On the invoice, page click on the “Click to Pay Now” button to pay for the registration application.
- Proceed to make the payment using the instructions given online. The Payment instructions will be generated and displayed automatically in the portal. The registration fee is Kshs. 9,000.00.
- Upon making the application payment, a payment receipt will be generated online.
- Note: Wait for approximately 10 minutes then refresh the invoice page. After refreshing the page, you should find copies of the receipt ready to be printed.
- Click on the “Download Receipt” button to download the payment receipt.
- Print the receipt and license and keep it for future reference.
- The applicant will be notified when the registration certificate is ready via telephone call and/or email after four weeks. The applicant can download a copy of the Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN) registration certificate from the NCK online portal.
- A hard copy of the certificate can be collected from the Nursing Council of Kenya offices upon receiving the notification. You need to produce proof of identity when collecting the certificate.

EligibilityEdit
To be eligible to apply, applicants should meet the following criteria;
- Is a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse, Kenya Registered Midwife, or Kenya Registered Nurse
- Has a valid Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse, Kenya Registered Midwife, or Kenya Registered Nurse practice license.
- Is a holder of a Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN) degree, diploma, or other qualification obtained from an accredited training institution in Kenya that is recognized by the council.
- Has successfully completed the NCK Professional Registration and Licensure Exams.
- Presents proof of two years’ clinical work experience.
- Satisfying the council that he/she is a person of good moral standing, may apply to the council for full registration as a Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse (KRPeri-OpN).

- The registration fee is Ksh. 9,000.00.

- The registration is valid until the practitioner is deregistered.
