Apply In-Person

  1. A person intending to operate a veterinary clinical center, veterinary hospital or an ambulatory service shall, before commencing such operation, apply to the Kenya Veterinary Board for approval.
  2. The individual should approach the Kenya Veterinary Board Offices and be issued with an Application for Approval of a Veterinary Clinical Centre/ Hospital/ Ambulatory Facility Form-34A to fill and submit.
  3. The application form can also be down loaded from their website through the following link.
  4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful. A list of these documents can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page or at KVB registration requirements page.
  5. The Kenya veterinary Board shall upon receipt of the application, cause an inspection to be conducted of the veterinary clinical center, veterinary hospital or an ambulatory service. This is usually one day after the submission of the application
  6. You will be required to pay the appropriate inspection fees and submit the payment receipt. The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page or at KVB registration fees page.
  7. If the board is satisfied that the applicant complies with the standards set out in regulations, the board will advise the applicant to pay the licensing fees. The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page or at KVB registration fees page.
  8. After payment of the requisite fee, the board will approve the application and issue a license in Form 34 (b). The license issued shall be valid for a period of one year calculated from the date of issue.
  9. The license may be cancelled at any time when the Board establishes a breach of any provisions of these Regulations.

FeesEdit

  • Inspection fees for registration of a veterinary clinical center, Ksh.50, 000 (fifty thousand). Paid Once
  • Inspection fees for registration for a veterinary hospital, Ksh. 100,000 (one hundred thousand). Paid Once
  • Inspection fees for ambulatory facility, Ksh 5,000 (five thousand). Paid annually


  • License fees for veterinary clinical center , Ksh.15,000.Paid annually
  • License fees for veterinary hospital, Ksh 30,000. Paid annually
  • License fees for ambulatory facility, Ksh5,000 (five thousand). Paid annually


  • Application fees can be paid directly to Cooperative Bank, Westlands Branch, Ac no 01141151721300 and banking slip presented to KVB. Include your name in the narrative.

  • Veterinary Clinical Centre/ Hospital/ Ambulatory Facilities should be registered / inspected and approved with the Kenya Veterinary Board in order to carry out its operations in Kenya.
