Apply In-Person:

  1. To obtain Driver License Extract, you have to approach the nearest RTO office of your area.

  3. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
  4. Apply for DL Extract in writing on a A4 paper by affixing 5 rupee stamp on the top right corner of your requisition letter.
  5. Now submit the completed application forms which you have done in online and attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the RTO office.
  6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quotes.
  7. The authorities will process your application.
  8. After all the process the authorities will Issue the DL Extract.



Apply Online: -Obtain Driver License Extract (DL Extract) Online with Images

  1. To apply for driver license extract (DL extract), the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
  2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
  3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
  4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
  5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
  6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.



Apply Through Centres

  1. To Obtain Driver License Extract (DL Extract), the applicant has to approach respective centre link
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the Certificate.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.
