ProcedureEdit

  • Population certificate is a certificate to know the population in the area where an applicant intends to start a business.
  • The Revenue Department of the respective State is the concerned department for the issuance of the Population Certificate.


Apply Online

  1. Please go to the online portal: link
  2. In the given page please select “Online Application” and hit “Apply Online” option.
  3. User will get a new page.
  4. Please enter the mobile number at the prompted space and click “Get OTP” button.
  5. Please enter the received OTP in the prompted space and click the applicable button.
  6. Applicant will reach dashboard. Please select “NEW Request” tab and select “Population Certificate” option.
  7. A new page prompts user to select language of choice to get the certificate. Please select language as appropriate and choose “Population Certificate” option to get the online applying page.
  8. Now complete the online application form with personal details, jurisdiction, upload documents and make payment using the payment gateway as applicable.
  9. Once all the above steps are completed, applicant shall use the right option to apply online.
  10. A system generated acknowledgement number will be displayed. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  11. This application will be processed further. Please follow the department notification to get the certificate as per applicable norms.
  12. To find the application status, go to the home page again and select “Online Application” and click “Application Status” option to get “APPLICATION STATUS” page.
  13. Here, select the “Application Type” from the drop-down list and enter the application number at the prompted space. Finally click “Get Status” button to know your application status.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply, the applicant has to approach the nearest Municipal or Revenue or Block Development or Circle office.
  2. Link for contact details: Panchayat Link please use the Excel sheet hyperlink against your state for contact details. AND Link2 AND link3 Please select your district from the given map. Another map showing areas under the district will be provided. Please select your area to get new page. In the given page please select “Contact” or “Contact Us” menu for contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure and Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  4. Complete the application form with mandatory details. Attach the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section. Make a photo copy of your application set and submit the application set along with photocopy set to the counter of the designated receiving authority.
  5. After receiving the application, the counter authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted with applicable fees as appropriate.
  6. Do not forget to get an official ‘acknowledgement of receipt’ in your photocopy set from the receiving authority and retain this document for future reference while following up this matter.
  7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer.
  8. An acknowledgement receipt will be given against application received. Please collect it and save it for future reference.
  9. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting this certificate.
  10. This application will be processed further. After processing the certificate will be generated in the certificate format.
  11. Concerned sanctioning authority will sign and seal the certificate after proper checking.
  12. The status, viz. Approval will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
  13. The certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.


Through Seva Sindhu - CSC

  1. Use the following link to find the centre: link please select “District” and “Taluk” as appropriate to get list of centres contact details.
  2. Please go the respective office.
  3. Application for Population Certificate can be obtained from the authorities. Please pay for application form as authorities quote.
  4. Submit the completed application along with required documents to the operator in the centre.
  5. Operator will check the details and start to process online using the computer.
  6. Applicant will get the transaction ID for the application made. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  7. This application will be processed by the respective department as per how it will be processed in person.
  8. Applicant will get notification about the status on his registered mobile number that was provided while applying.
  9. Applicant has to go and meet the respective authorities upon notification with original documents as instructed to get the certificate as per notified date.
Note:
  • Applicant has to bring original documents while applying for verification and also for scanning purpose as per requirement.
  • Without cross signature on photograph and signature on undertaking the application will be rejected


Apply Through CSC

  1. To the applicant has to approach respective “CSC” centre link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the population certificate.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

EligibilityEdit

  • The citizen who needs the Population Certificate should be a permanent resident of the respective state while applying.
  • An Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years or more is eligible to apply.
  • Those who are applying for PMEGP(Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme) loan are eligible to apply for this certificate.
