Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Ration Card holder should approach to any one of the nearest ration card SevaKendras (Ration Shops) and start the process by going through Biometric authentication procedure. In rural areas, visit their respective Gram Panchayath office computer center.

3. Applicant shall go in person to these centers.
4. Please submit the set of required document to the authority / officer in the office.
5. After the document required are checked, online process will be initiated by the officer.
6. Applicants need to provide Aadhaar based bio-metric authentication at the stage of filing application for inclusion.
7. For children below 5 years, bio-metric authentication is not required but Aadhaar card is mandatory.
8. After the above steps are completed. Application will then be processed for changing address. A fee of 50 rupees or as per the government norms need to be paid for the service.
9. This application will be processed by the respective authorities. Scrutiny and verification of details submitted will also be processed.
10. Applicant is informed through SMS at various stages.
11. Applicant receives modified ration card in 2 – 3 weeks as notified by the department.
    
    

In case the applicant moves into new residence outside the jurisdiction of the same Fair Price Shop, the change of address can be recorded in the ration card as per the procedure below.

1. Once these documents are submitted as per the address above, a deletion slip will be issued. Applicant shall use this slip to get the card deleted from the A-Register or appropriate register and get a deletion slip signed by the respective salesman or authority.
2. Hand over the deletion slip with the family card to the respective office and get an acknowledgement slip
3. The changes are thereafter carried out in the family card. Applicant can come and collect the updated ration card on the day stipulated.

Eligibility

• A valid ration card holder who changed their residence.
• The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
• The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
• The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
• New born above 5 years
• Addition of member name after marriage

Fees

• Fee information can be obtained directly from the department office while applying.

Validity

• Validity remains same
• Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.
