Procedure[edit]

Apply Online - India Register for Goods and Service Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) Online with Images

  1. Go to GST Registration Portal Using Following link Goods and services Tax
  2. Click on “Services” menu and under “Registration” click the sub option “New registration” to get new page.
  3. In the given page user has to fill in New registration page prompts for user credentials and hit “Proceed” provided on the bottom of the page to reach OTP verification page.
  4. Here user need to provide mobile and email id and complete the page prompts as appropriate to get OTP and enter it at the respective spaces as applicable to verify.
  5. The system generated “Temporary Reference Number (TRN)”will be provided on the screen. You will receive the TRN acknowledgment information on your e-mail address as well as in your mobile number.
  6. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  7. Now come back to the home page as state above. Select “Services” menu followed by “Registration” option then “New Registration”sub option and select the “Temporary Reference Number (TRN)” radio button to login using the TRN.
  8. In the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) field, enter the TRN generated and enter the captcha text as shown on the screen as appropriate.
  9. Click the “PROCEED” button. The Verify OTP page is displayed. You will receive same Mobile OTP and Email OTP. These OTPs are different from the OTPs you received in previous step.
  10. In the Mobile / Email OTP field, enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and email address as applicable. OTP is valid only for 10 minutes.
  11. In case OTP is invalid, try again by clicking the Need OTP to be resent. You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number or email ID again.
  12. Enter the newly received OTP again at the appropriate spaces.
  13. Click the “PROCEED” button.
  14. From this point onwards, user will be provided with page prompts for filling details of the business, registration, address, digital signature, aadhar verification, signing authority and other relevant details. User need to provide appropriate details and complete the page prompt by hitting the right tab.
  15. This application will get processed by the respective department.

  1. Please contact a chartered accountant and follow his guidelines.
  2. You need to provide the required documents and details for registering.

  • Partnership Deed
  • Photo of the Promoter/ Partner
  • Photo of the Authorised Signatory
  • Proof of Appointment of Authorised Signatory (Any One)
    • Letter of Authorisation
    • Copy of Resolution passed by BoD/ Managing Committee and Acceptance letter
  • Proof of Principal Place of business (Any One)
    • Electricity Bill
    • Legal ownership document
  • Municipal Khata Copy
  • Property Tax Receipt
  • Rent / Lease agreement
  • Rent receipt with NOC (In case of no/expired agreement)

Eligibility[edit]

  • Businesses with turnover above the threshold limit of Rs. 40 Lakhs* (Rs. 10 Lakhs for North-Eastern States, J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand)
  • Casual taxable person / Non-Resident taxable person
  • Agents of a supplier & Input service distributor
  • Those paying tax under the reverse charge mechanism
  • Person who supplies via e-commerce aggregator
  • Every e-commerce aggregator
  • Person supplying online information and database access or retrieval services from a place outside India to a person in India, other than a registered taxable person
  • CBIC has notified the increase in threshold turnover from Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs. The notification was in effect from 1st April 2019.

Instructions[edit]

Required Information[edit]

  • Registered Business Name
  • Valid Permanent Account Number (PAN)
  • Valid Indian Mobile Phone Number
  • Valid e-mail address
  • Jurisdiction details
  • Valid Bank Account Number from India
  • Indian Financial System Code (IFSC)
  • At least One Proprietor / Partner / Director / Trustee / Karta / Member with corresponding PAN
  • An authorized signatory who is resident of India with valid details Including PAN
  • Place of Business
  • Valid e-mail ID
  • Other information related to business.

Need for the Document[edit]

  • Enterprise in India are now comes under GST tax system
  • Procurement or sale of any commodity/item/service attracts GST as per government norms and the same has to be paid with registration of their firm under GST and obtain the unique GST number.
