Procedure

Apply Online

1. To Register for Food Safety Mitra (FSM), the applicant has to make their application online via the official website of FSSAI – link
2. The applicant has to click “Apply Now” which is directed to registration page.
3. Next, complete the online application form with the required details such as personal details, qualification details, contact details etc.
4. After filling the form, read the terms and conditions carefully and click on the “Agree” button.
5. Then click on “Register Yourself” button to complete the registration process.
6. After successful registration takes a print out of Application form for future reference.
7. After registration the applicant has to pay registration charges of 500 INR for training and online Assessment.
8. Next the applicant has to take on Online Assessment Examination. The exam will be of 100 Marks, in which candidates must acquire a minimum of 75 Marks to pass the Examination.

Note:

1. If the candidate fails the exam, he has to repay the registration fees of 500 INR and undergo training and online Assessment.
2. Candidates, who have already paid the registration fees and waiting for the Assessment, can go to an online evaluation if the training module is completed.
3. Once a candidate passes the exam, they have to pay a security deposit of 5000 INR.
4. The certificate will be downloaded after the security deposit payment and approval from the regional offices
5. After completing the Assessment, the food safety Mitra will be provided with a certificate for two years.
6. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

To register as a Food Safety Mitra, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be an Indian citizen and resident of India
• the applicant must be in the age of 21 to 60 years.
• Have a minimum bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
• Be proficient in working knowledge of computers, internet etc.

Fees

• The registration fee for Food Safety Mitra is 500 INR.
• After passed the exam, the applicant will need to pay a security deposit of Rs. 5000 to become certified Food Safety Mitra.

Validity

• The validity of Food Safety Mitra certification is 2 years.
