Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The Issue of plumbing licenses to qualified persons is governed by concerned “Water Supply and Sewerage Board” for the respective state. In some states the corporation or general administration department itself act as the board.
2. In need of requirement applications will be invited by the board for grant of license to eligible candidates.
3. Applicant shall approach their area board engineer’s office to apply.
4. Go to the respective office and consult with authority for any updated requirements to apply.
5. Get the application form or write as advised on an A4 sheet to apply.

7. Please submit the completed application along with required document as per our required document section.
8. Once the submitted details are in place, eligible applicant will be asked to pay security deposit, license fees and other charges. Please pay as applicable and get the receipt.
9. This application will be processed internally. Applicant will get notification on their registered mobile number which they mentioned on the application while applying.
10. Please follow the department notification for further process to get the license.

Note:

• A person already holding a license may be exempted from the prescribed qualification in view of his experience at the discretion of the board.

Required Documents

• Application form
• Copy of academic qualification certificate
• Copy of technical qualification certificate
• Experience certificate in original with attested copies thereof (Also attach any testimonials)
• Original challan for having remitted the requisite fee
• Self-addressed envelope duly affixed with the prescribed amount in postage stamp.
• An affidavit sworn before the Notary on Rs 20/- stamp paper
• Photo Identity proof of the applicant such as Ration card, Passport, Voters identity card, Driving licence, Aadhar card.
• Proof of address of business premises if any i.e., copy of rental agreement
• Details of work done
• School leaving certificate
• Birth certificate
• Aadhaar Card
• Three recent passport size photograph

Eligibility

• He must be a citizen of India.
• He should be at least 21 years of age.
• The License of Plumber shall be in three grades (or as per state government’s norms). To be eligible for these grades the plumber shall satisfy…
  • Educational qualifications requirement (ITI/Diploma or one of those the state government considers)
  • Experience (for the specified years) as per the state governments draft.

Fees

• Applicant need to make payment for

  • Security deposit – Rs.5000
  • License fee – Rs.2000
  • Registration fee – Rs.150

Validity

• The license will be issued for 1 year.
• The license issued is renewable.

Processing Time

• Usually it is 3 months. In need of service, the norms required for granting the license will be modified to issue the license in time as per board requirement.

• License of plumbers shall be permitted to carry out Plumbing works for Sewerage/ water supply installations in the categories of buildings as per board norms.
• Plumber license is required by an individual to take up plumbing assignments that require such licenced person to commission.
• Government tender for plumbing work contract requires licensed plumber to quote.
